You need to use the 10 extra range to harass and force it away. They are also not the same price at all 470/175 vs 340(?)/125 Jacksons are in my opinion perfectly balanced for its design. With micro the only threat is volks blobs. They utterly suck on small maps like trois point and semoisky though So something thats worse at actually destroying a Tank than an SU85 is supposed to threaten things like Panthers, Tigers and KTs? I cant agree. Unless of course USF had a heavy tank thats "Not part of their design". Having two Jacksons prevents you from countering Obers and Falls that will just horribly murder your infantry. Unless of course Airborne! Everybodys favorite! Must use Airborne! Its OK and only its speed makes it so. Everybody also likes to go OMG RANGE! But the range is the same as the other dedicated TDs that can site for themselves sooooo...not advantage Jackson...just Par for the course. In: COH2 Balance

Also a great vid on how not to use the m36's Give it smoke, Stun, an MG that has more DPS then an M20 at Vet 2 and a Pumas speed/small target size? SURE!!! DONE! In: COH2 Balance

Now compare it to the JP4 and SU85 which is what the Jackson closely relates. Dedicated AI-less Medium Tank destroyer. Less HPs Larger Target Size Less Armor Less ROF/DPS Less Pen Less site range Turret YAY and Slightly better speed (but it aint no Blitzing Panther) Or if you want to see what a Jackson could be like Add Mark Target to a T34/85 and you get less Pen slightly less reload but More HPs Armor and it has AI. Of course the less Pen isnt an issue as you arent going to go Point blank with a Jackson and you can easily with the T34/85 because OMG IT CAN FLANK since it doesnt die to a couple of shreks instantly! All the wonderful things said about the Jackson. Its OK. Its not GREAT. Its just OK. It could use a buff imho and since its really good versus medium tanks the Buff should be to Pen as it doesnt matter on a Medium anyway. In: COH2 Balance

The M36 against Medium Tanks is extremely good, but against Heavy Tanks it's not so good. High damage and average Penetration make for a very RNG-based unit. It's also not that expensive, it's the same cost as a Panzer IV, in a direct fight RNG determines the winner. Personally I feel that giving it a gun more like the Panther's will help balance it against Medium and Heavy tanks alike. Normal damage and high penetration. Keep in mind it's still have HVAP to buff penetration even further. Don't forget it's slow reload that gives it lower DPS than an SU85 or JP4. Also it's lackluster accuracy and its large target size. Really the Jackson has less going for it than other true Medium TDs. It's really overhyped. In: COH2 Balance

But i really am annoyed that some people act how that vg somehow come with vet 5. If you see a vet 5 volks then its YOUR mistake. it means you have been feeding the volks squad a healthy diet of tanks as they have not other way to level up to vet 5. remember a VG with shrek and vet 4 has less AI then a vanilla gren squad. Grenades. Even if they dont score a kill generate a ton of XP. Unless of course you just mash T everytime they throw a grenade rather then moving and eating a little AOE. Its harder to Vet Volks to 5 without the Shrek but not all that rare. In: COH2 Balance

No I am advocating "Asymmetrical Balance" as it stands the Bazookas arent a counter to anything but light vehicles. You cannot cost effectivly blob a P4 to death because it will mutilate your riflemen. This is fine. Its the way it is. You cant just A move a blob at a tank. But they can offer supporting damage. Even if they did nerf the Shrek down to bazooka levels or just slightly better then it couldnt counter armor in a blob like they currently enjoy today. And due to the lower level of all Armor that isnt Axis it would still perform better then a Bazooka can. What are the alternatives? Its clearly a problem. You dont want its accuracy to go down, you dont want its DPS to go down, you dont want its penetration to go down, you dont want it to not be affected by Veterancy. Sounds like your happy with the Shrek the way it is. It is incredibly stupid that you need to rely on the RNG of a Scott or a Doctrine (Bulldozer) to fight on even terms against massed Shreks. What is your idea? Buff the crap out of Bazookas to make them like Shreks and see the same Problem on the Allied side? In: COH2 Balance

You should always have a safety net, or enough map awareness to avoid ttouble. Yes which is why they Nerfed the T70 back in the day. Early squad whipes not fun. Why they have repeatedly tweaked explosive profiles, why they have nerfed Arty again and again. Squad whipes without a chance to react is against what the game is about. Now if it was running down the squad into the base pew pew pew style and whiped the squad thats another matter. But one shot KO is not cool. In: COH2 Balance

If you want Panzerschrecks to be the same, then you're admitting that you don't care about balance, you only want the enemy to be easier to fight. Fine make them laser accurate still lower their Pen and Damage to 60. There you go Bazooka version 2. It would still be better though because USF armor is weaker. Will just suck against Soviets who cant even get a handheld AT weapon. Whatever the change is it needs to happen. They are simply too effective when you consider what faction they are in and when compared to the terrible performance of Bazookas. They actually NERF the squad you put them in. In: COH2 Balance

I´m serious. 2) Pak and Jackson are different... one is a vehicle, the other one an AT gun. I´m confident even you know that. if you want to compare them (which really stretches it) I have to see a Pak driving off at the speed of a Jackson until I believe your statement. 3) Paks haven´t proven effective since the latest patch. I hardly use them. better invest in Schrecks. It´s ridiculous how people want Schrecks nerfed now. Sounds more to me like Ostheer isn´t allowed to have anti tank at all. You arent using them right. Speed or no Speed both are defensive. One can be killed by a Panther with ease. The other cannot be killed at all by a Jackson and should be guarded by Grens with Fausts. I am sure that many many more tanks have been killed by Pak guns since WFA then by Jacksons. If you cant use the Pak with its 100% Pen and better than Jackson DPS I dont know what to tell you.
