in windows 7 there is a disk defrag utility already in there, it by defaults run once a week. if you go to start->disk defrag you can see the last time it ran and how fragmented your disks are. (should say 0% if its been running)
Thanks to this I just went and looked out of curiosity, only to realise that the defragger was for some reason only set to defrag my backup drive, which I rarely change anything on (although CoH2 is on it, windows is not). Guess I'll have to leave my computer on to defrag overnight tonight. |
I disagree. I'd rather see the axis infantry AT toned down to the level of the allies than see the allies buffed. Otherwise both factions will be able to blob infantry right into enemy tanks no problem, rather than just one of them.
I'd rather nerf blobbing than nerf everything that benefits it, which includes pretty much every heavy weapon in the game. By the time we're done a Panzerschreck will be a Bazooka and an LMG42 will be a DP, and then the meta will just be vehicle rushing because anything without an engine sucks at it's job.
And even then blobbing will persist, because units with shitty DPS are moved in groups to increase DPS and survivability. So you'd just end up with blobs of crappy infantry while you rush for some sort of armour so you can hold out until Tigers. |
Something I thought of, what if instead of having Panzerschrecks, you could upgrade one guy to just throw RPG-43's at vehicles? Half the range for a slightly higher rate of fire (rate of throwing?)? |

They are in the game.
They are just map dependent and the doc is not so hot late game (but anything with Mark Target is not so bad for that)
Actually awhile back a relic employee confirmed they were removed due to "problems", but he didn't elaborate and never mentioned it since. I assume the "problem" was missing VA when you use them to rewcrew any vehicle except a T-34 or SU-85, which while the vehicle was functional, it was completely mute.
Regardless I would like to see female partisans back in as well, I doubt they'd so readily scrap male partisans like that. |
They're fine, maybe a small buff is acceptable, but I really don't want the old Penals back. Not only were they overpriced, but you could capture an MG 42 with them, and they would beat a flanking Grenadier squad. |
Fixed positions would be easier to balance and create themes for, but random is more variable. I'm indifferent. |
There are only two weapons that make any difference in shots required to kill it.
Or it was reduced before WFA? Can't really remember, anyway the only weapons it makes any difference against is PTRS and bazooka. For every single other-its still 3 except ISU and KV-2.
The difference is that while it still takes 2 heavy hits or 3 normal hits to kill, any combination of the sort is more effective. The old StuG could take one heavy hit and one normal hit, or two normal hits and an AT grenade, etc. But these combinations are now lethal, and in it's current form one Sherman and one Jackson hitting a StuG will kill it instantly, whereas before the StuG would have a slim chance to escape if you reacted quickly.
There is also armor that adds to survivability you know, allied AT weapons doesn't all have 100% chance to penetrate it unlike axis AT against allied armor and as a cherry on top, it got most firepower out of all vehicles around its price.
It has 140 armour and lacks a turret. It's nothing impressive. I'd rather it cost 100 fuel and be more like the old StuG. As long as you're facing the American faction, there is no reason to get a StuG, it'd just be fodder for the M36. |
It costs 80 fuel and is most durable vehicle in game for that price.
Actually 400 health is pretty standard for that price, which includes the StuG, M10, and Puma.
Anyway my problem with the StuG III is that once the Americans get M36 or E8's, or the Soviets get T-34/85's, the StuG III becomes totally obsolete. The M36 can kill it in just 2 hits, and the E8's and 85's are too durable for it to kill. |
That's not so much Elite Infantry as it is T2 Infantry, which the US is unique in that it's what they start with. Riflemen are roughly equal to Penals, slightly better actually. Riflemen also can stand up to Sturmpioneers and Panzergrenadiers if used well or given upgrades. Obersoldaten are the only one on that list that Riflemen cannot stand up to, even with upgrades. |
