is there not an upkeep penalty related to repair speed in this game? I think that worked well in coh1.

And in order to hit the target you need to aim, not just reload. Aiming takes time , which is why there is a difference in theoretical rate of fire and actual rate of fire.
That makes it even worse though. Both tanks have to aim, both tanks fire, both tanks miss. But here's the kicker, the Panther stays trained on the IS-2 while it reloads. The IS-2 has to level the gun, reload, then aim again. Not only does the Panther reload faster, but it may also make adjustments to it's aim while the IS-2 reloads slower and has to aim every shot as if it were the first.
Why not make the ISU an heavy tank hunter like the elephant? Completely disregarding all of it's AI capabilities.
Because that doesn't make sense, a 152mm Howitzer firing HE Shells, but it can't hurt Infantry? That's like having the short-barrel StuG III E take the SU-85's job. |
I still vote for Fuel upkeep. Raising the CP's would delay when they enter the fight, but once there the same old problems will still remain. Fuel upkeep on Heavy-Medium (Easy Eight, T-34/85, Panther, etc) and Heavy Tanks (IS-2, Tiger I, Tiger II, etc) would help level the playing field as lost medium tanks wouldn't put you at such a huge disadvantage. |
Is your line like 5 metres away from the enemy? I expected that it would at least be 50 metres away.
Nah but too often I see infantry attack my line, get forced to retreat, then 5-10 seconds later my Conscripts explode. |
I don't like the accuracy of the 120mm though. Personal experience, the fucking thing bombs my lines more than the enemy. |

- give PG's a single shreck upgrade for 60 munis (up to 2 upgrades) They tried that in the Beta, it lead to blobbing. They did it with Volks, it lead to blobbing. Dual purpose AI/AT Infantry just leads to blobbing.
- remove suppression ability from kubel but increase it's DPS (like for example main gun matches gren LMG DPS and on move it has 50% reduced accuracy) That's almost OKW's suppression though, are they just expected to not have any suppression ability? The only other suppression they have is the doctrinal MG 34 and Flak Half-Track.
-increase health on forward structures like bunkers, trenches so they won't get destroyed by 3 AT shots But AT Guns are supposed to counter trenches, especially early on. Penals and Engineers are the only alternatives, and Engineers are too fragile to be planting 90 mun charges on enemy lines.
- change cost of Ost and soviet arty (ML-20 and LeFH) to 400MP/50fuel and let each barrage costs 5 muni Wow, with a nerf like that, you must really hate Heavy Artillery. |
On another subject, what about making a further difference on the speed and mobility of light, medium, heavies and super heavies.
Because people already hate the Kubelwagen and the Puma, could you imagine the rage if they also effortlessly outran anything that even had a chance to kill them? The slowest vehicle in the game is 3.0 for the upgraded Jagdtiger, and the fastest is 7.3 for the M3 Scout Car and Opel Blitz. Infantry move at 3.0 and Medium Tanks are 6.0 - 6.5, only twice as fast as jogging. Heavy Tanks speeds are 3.8 (KT), 4.7 (Tiger), and 5.0 (IS-2).
Plus, the vehicle movement patterns don't change based on speed, so an M3 taking a corner looks fine, on overdrive it looks a bit unsteady, on overdrive and on a road it looks like it's breaking the laws of physics. Increase the overall speed and it'd look like it was the Planet Express ship moving the Earth around itself rather than actually driving. |
These used to happen constantly in the CoH2 beta. I think there was a crit for every crew member. Iirc the ones removed are:
Gunner injured = Main gun stops tracking / shooting
Loader injured = ROF temporarily decreased
Driver injured = Tank stops moving
Ones still in game are:
Engine Overheated = Only happens when a T-34 fails ram (previously also happened from flamethrower attacks and running over fire pits)
Crew Shocked = Entire crew ceases operation, only happens with TWP or random crit when a Tiger and IS-2 are fighting.
I do miss the temporary critical, I feel like they should so something with them, but I don't know what. |
They could make forward retreat be the Command Bunker for the Wehrmacht, and I'm not sure for the Soviets, since while they have FHQ's, they're dependent on buildings and only available in one doctrine. |
