I know they're not opposed to this because they did it with the Sturmpanzer, replaced TWP with Bunker-Buster. Not sure what it does, but it's new. |
Soviet Industry was good until they increased the manpower cost of all vehicles, now it's pointless because the fuel buff doesn't really help anything because you can't afford the manpower cost of your vehicles. |
It's funny actually, the M3 and M5 were very similar, the M5 was just an export-only version with some changes. Yet out of all the Half-Tracks in the game, they also make up the weakest and strongest in the game. |
I think overall the USF needs a pop cap reduction.

Funny enough the primary advantage of open-topped tanks was better sight, but this isn't represented in game at all. Not for the Ostwind, not for the M10, not for the M36.
That may be because no tank the game can see over 50 range. Exceptions are elefant, su85 and isu with focused vision. And i think only tank that can see 50 is command panther rest sees only 40. It might be a good idea to increase jacksons sight range to 50, 60 might be tad overpowered.
LOS for Tanks is 35, LOS for Scouts is 50, Command Panther has 55. |
StuG should be reverted to it's previous AT Role, with longer range and higher penetration. The dual AI/AT role isn't awful, but Ost T3 already has 2 other AI capable tanks, one for AI/AT and one for AI/AA. And if you want an AI StuG, you can just get the Model E instead. |
What if it keeps its damage, gets a penetration buff and a reduced rate of fire? Then it would be worse against T3, better against heavies, and still be a special snowflake.
That's also a good alternative solution. It's basically like the old IS-2 gun. Which I still didn't have a problem with, I kinda miss it. I liked my IS-2 having a sledgehammer. |
I have no clue what you're trying to say with regard to your comparison between the Is-2 and the Panther...? The Is-2 is nothing at all like the Panther, and as far as I can remember it never has been.
The IS-2 used to deal 240 damage and have a long reload time, but it was chanced to 160 for a shorter reload time, the gun is now more similar to the Panther's, just effective vs Infantry.
I think a buff to the AP rounds could probably suffice to make it feel more reliable.
That'd work against heavy tanks but it'd still nullify WM T3, and it'd drain all of your munitions rapidly and you need Vet 1. I feel like having 240 damage for the sake of being a special snowflake isn't helping anything. |

Imo the British Commonwealth is the last powerhouse country in the war. Of late-war Germany, the USSR, the USA, and the Commonwealth, the latter is the only one not yet portrayed. These armies had solid infantry, solid tanks, solid weaponry. All other examples had either inferior infantry, inferior tanks, inferior weapons, or all of the above. Germany's allies relied on German equipment and/or were never far from German lines, while Japan used extensive fortifications, island-hopping tactics, and their powerful Navy and Air Forces.
Some examples can't even exercise their chief advantage in a game like CoH2. Take the Japan, how are you going to represent the IJA's extensive defense network that gave them the advantage they needed to even stay in the war? When America invaded a Japanese Island, traps were already set everywhere, mines laid everywhere, ambushers were everywhere, and tunnels allowed troops to move unseen and stay safe from months of artillery bombardment.
People might ask for Japan, but nobody says anything about how they will be competitive in 1v1 without also being overpowered in mixed 2v2. The only way would be to segregate the factions or take the ToW route and ban a very large array of powerful units that those factions possess, including medium tanks. |
