Don't worry about maps not having water. As I've said, these are only guidelines, and maps entirely based on land will have as much chance as those who use more than 2 water taps.
More than anything, this system is to show us any areas of weakness where maps need improvement, particularly with regards to visuals and balance.
Don't worry too much about the scores. They're merely guidelines to work with.
When it comes down to territory, the +2 category is designed around the "ideal" layout for all map sizes. Fluctuation in munitions and fuel are to be expected in some maps, and we'll look out for them.
And again, the number of water sources is the "ideal" amount. Each water tap lowers the optimisation of the map considerably. Some Relic maps have more (particularly the mud maps), but they are well optimised in other ways to compensate for this.
Thanks MB, I really like the map making TotWs. Please keep making them, they're very helpful; especially on topics such as this that will be used very frequently. Can you possibly make some videos at some point?
My pleasure!
And I can certainly try to at some point, but I have no Microphone at the moment, so it may be a little while!
Can a map not be submitted in more than one category? 1v1 and 2v2?
If you want to enter a map, try to keep it to one category. However, if you're unsure, we will determine during our tests whether your map is suited to that category. A lot of 1vs1 maps are similar to 2vs2, so we'll look at the way they play and decide in the end.
It won't mean that you lose out on your chance!
Just have a play yourself and see which you think it suits best.
