I can't remember seeing any good OKW players put them in buildings. It seems almost counterproductive.
Raketens, as a whole, seem okay right now. I used to hate them, both playing with them and playing against them, just for different reasons.
It's not a pointless ability. You can use building to hide from LoS from normal AT guns - you can't do that when the AT is in the actual building itself. It's a fairly situational ability no doubt about that, but on a map like Arnhem Checkpoint or Lost Glider (basicly maps with stone buildings in key locations) it can come in very handy. |
I do think they are slightly too resistant to infantry. You can push crazy agressively with them with little fear of losing them thanks to the retreat ability. Definetly the strongest AT gun against medium armor because of this. You can make a pair of them and just do crazy push after crazy push, if you make a mistake, doesn't matter, hit retreat. If the enemy makes a mistake, they lose their medium armor.
Though I am not actually sure if they need a change. I very rarely play with heavy allied armor so maybe my perception of the Raketten is biased because of it. |
other than the target size ce (1 vs 1.07) cost a measly 170mp while pio cost 200
even comparing cons 240 vs vs assgren (250-260 can't member) the CE save more (70 vs 50-60)
my point was CE and pio are not the same, one got buffed and works the other is forgotten and need to relay on doc crutches which is unhealthy
Pios got buffed too. They got extra vision and sandbags added to them. |
I have to point out that CE start with target size of 1 while Conscripts with TS of 1.09 so the EHP ration is not 2/3.
I have to point out that I said HP and not EHP. |
actually no , CE have been buffed with patches, they have the same weapon as cons but 2 less man, would u immagine if the same was done with pio and the ass green mp40 instead of the water guns they have now ?
That would be pretty OP. CE's have conscript weapons. They are 2/3rds of a conscript squad in size. So they do 2/3rds of conscript weapons while having 2/3rds HP of a conscript squad (a 240mp squad). Pios with Assault gren SMGs would perform at 4/5ths of the effectiveness of the assault grens (which are more expensive units than conscripts). At 200MP the pios would actually be better combat units than assault grens in terms of bang for your manpower-buck, in addition to having flamers, better vision, mines, able to repair etc. |
Team games are for fun mass battles. If you want to play a game of strategy and positioning, stick to 1v1s. Many team maps are designed to just have players go head to head in waves. |
Ah I'm starting to understand what you are saying now.
I am not completely certain on how infantry v infantry combat works but I believe there is also a chance to instant kill a model even if they are at full health which adds an extra layer of complexity to infantry v infantry combat.
I think this is mostly patched out and normal rifles can no longer insta-kill a model. Conscripts for example used to have 16dmg on hit, but low accuracy. This could result in instant model kill, which would win the engagement. Now they have only 8 damage with much greater accuracy. |
come again aerohank ? so i must wait till i can upgrade my ass grens so they can compete with a unit that comes from the get go. i have tried sprinting into them but the grens lost every time
You can use sprint to force engagements that you want to have. You may lose 1-on-1, but the sprint allows you to overwhelm the enemy if you see a weakpoint in his line, or quickly soft retreat your troops if they are caught 1-on-1. Sprinting into enemy SMG troops 1-on-1 is never a good idea, since you will lose on the move DPS and it takes a small moment to aim aftee sprinting where you are taking full damage but are doing none. |
This is true they shit on every axis close unit.
there is no counter to them early game. only Pgrens have a chance against them.
Counter them the same way soviets counter assault grens. Keep your grens together, make the assault troops walk into your concentrated force. Do not try to spread across the map, it will lead to you losing every engagement. Count on the fact that those assault units become worse as the game progresses. Only start fanning out across the map in the mid-game. |
Do you think Assault grens or Assault engineers are OP too? Because Assault sections had their stats pretty much mirrored with those two units.
It's a l2p issue. Assault grens take a particular playstyle to counter (always keeping your units together and avoiding 1 on 1 engaments). Assault tommies are the same; axis players just need to catch up on how to deal with them. |
