Been enjoying the cast a lot recently, Dane, keep up the good work!
It's been especially good watching OKW replays since I've been trying to learn that faction. Hoping I might have some good replays to send you soon (not sure if they are MNF worthy or regular cast worthy). |
For me it's been
$70 - CoH2 Vanilla
$3 - Urban Defense Commander (Sale)
$3 - Mechanized Assault Commander (Sale)
$11.50 - Oberkommando West (25% discount on GMG)
All up $87.50 for a game I've been playing pretty solidly for the past year+
Just buy what you want, and ignore the rest. I have no desire to get more commanders for OKW, I find I've still got oodles more to discover and refine using the three that came with it. Hell, I haven't so much as used the Luftwaffe Ground Forces doctrine in weeks. |
Someone's getting fired at Relic it seems. Or at least getting a stern talking to about forgetting to remove that one from public use.
I do love the placeholder 'Dudes with stuff'. It sounds like an interesting commander, but more command tanks? And a Konigstiger Command tank? That's going to cost like 20,000 fuel. |
Aren´t the 10 muni nades a bit to cheap now with this new munition income ?
I get the feeling the 10muni is just a token cost considering you need to be out of combat for a certain amount of time to use it being the 'real' cost. I wouldn't mind seeing it go up to 15 or something to even out if required (x1.5 in ratio with the increase) |
I still use this ability from time to time, I do find it useful when caught with your pants down even if it's not an MG but you can't find cover close by, or want to cap a point and hold the line without cover around. Just hit the dirt and then you can still retreat if you need to.
Against MGs though it's obviously the most useful. Hit the dirt with a squad to draw it's fire then use the other flank or attack it with relative safety. |
I like it being unique as part of asymmetrical balance for OKW. Throttled resources but better reward for keeping your units alive longer.
Giving it to everyone just removes some of the individuality. They've already been stripping OKW of their uniqueness I don't want to see more of it going. |
OKW get 100% Munitions income!?
You mean... you mean... I can use grenades again!?
IT'S HAPPENING.
Also I'll be able to make more STG44 Vampirs instead of 'Maybe just one, I kinda need that for Shrecks...'.
I'll be able to build MINES perhaps! I remember those! I mean, I won't be able to go nuts like when I play Soviets, just laying them down in increasingly complex and intricate patterns across the map, criss-crossing every possible surface area, but still, I'll be able to maybe mine a few key locations!
I might even get to try out booby-trapping points! And smoke grenades! And, and and... I think I need to go sit down for a bit. |
^I thought it was okay AT in numbers (3 at least)? |
At the same time, the items I purchased does not increase my ability to receive newer content. I will receive duplicates to the very items I already paid. In essence, I have a far greater chance in receiving duplicates, thus being a handicap for obtaining premium content via War Spoils. Is that fair?
Yes.
I don't see what more I have to say, you paid for the guarantee to use those commanders at any time you see fit without having to depend on a lottery to get them. Anything else is irrelevant unless other non-paying players also get that benefit.
Not to mention duplicates will have some value apparently so let's see where that goes... |
War Spoils is a great idea. It allows people, who have the time to invest, to obtain content that would be otherwise issued with a price tag. Although this model is nothing new, it still is a cool way of shedding the "pay to win" label that was given by certain members of the community. This platform of introducing new content will be valuable throughout the lifespan of CoH2.
There is only one issue I see wrong with War Spoils. It is a huge slap to the face of those who have spent a substantial amount of money for Sov/Ost Commanders, and skins. I understand it will entice the WFA only owners to invest in more of the original comment, but at the same time it gives a chance for free things that people purchased for, in the past.
I would like to know how, or if, Relic has any plan on compensating the people who have spent money on commanders and skins. Is this just asking for too much and our prior purchases were in vain, or is there a remedy for this in the future?
I don't see the issue. If you paid for the commanders already, not only have you had all the time previous to War Spoils to enjoy them while nobody else could get them, you are also now able to use them 100% of the time guaranteed with no limits while everyone else and their wife need to wait for the potential lottery or a free weekend. It's the same as having it in War Spoils now or being able to buy it, you basically pay for the ability to guarantee it's use forever with no limitations. |
