That is just funny how such big gun can't kill inf!
Its about accuracy. You would not be able to swot a fly with a broad sword. Just like you can't hit infantry with a 85mm gun. |
Hmm what is wrong with KV1 durability? Its a heavy call in, with the worst gun on any armour and its slow. Seems fine to me. |
It may just be my bad play style, but I feel it's tricky to go T4 and shermans. I'd rather just spam shermans, but then fuel is a waste, and Dshka is a waste because I go T2.
So for me in 1v1 I may as well just go 34/85s. For 2v2 it's really good with T4. |
I don't see the point discussing 'dream' commanders as it's very easy to make one OP.
I think it's more useful to discuss potentially viable and balanced commanders.
Can't believe nobody has mentioned Guards + KV8. |
The whole idea if you go T4 is to either rely in T1/2 anti if power and or bolster with a doctrine, Shocks, KV8, incendiary arty, IS2 etc.
Su85 is cheap and powerful against tanks. And don't forget Katushkas. |
Well the ability might be really under used . But the principal is ok, you activate it in large assaults when you are losing many grenadiers anyway. Your not sacrificing them. Your gaining map control and some free Ost thrown in for a few munis. |
It will give exactly the same bonuses, so yeah ups rate of fire and accuracy. Works great on these units with grens hanging around also.
Generally when your T2 build, you bunch forces up to maximise the combined arms power, hence theres more units for the officer to buff. Just like FTFL, it will often sway an enemy assault from being sucessful to not. |

The germans didnt lose the war on quality of kit. They lost the war by being surrounded and outnumbered by allies which produced everything on a mass scale that the germans just could not match as their industry was slowly bombed into oblivion.
Everyone knows you can pick pretty much anything from guns, tanks, planes etc and germans had pretty much the best of everything. Obviously that alone does not translate into a win.
How did Vietcong beat USA in Vietnam? Did they have better kit..? |
I do of course agree that it is situational, and sometimes tricky to pull off. But it is a nuke cannon, it shouldn't be too easy should it?
I still stick that the direct fire is reliable if you use it well. Don't panic and try it on any vehicle in sight, it's easy to tell when either a vehicle is stationary, or it's driving straight forward. Provided the direction of fire is set , direct fire really does hit in 1 second flat. It's not hard to work with.
Also when you place it, I recommend changing the camera angle to find the best LOS spot.
I have been going just cons and T2. I get ZiS for my early AT, I try to surprise their armour with B4 when there is no hint of counter attack ( no kv1 yet).
B4 an kv1 come at same cp but I know which possesses greatest potential shock factor. |

Hmm yeah, a scatter descrease at long ranges might work ok. Still hit tanks reliably, but inf on the move might only lose 1 man, or ocasionally miss altogether. Afterall, artillery type guns are not pin point accurate.
But also an accuracy decrease for the Elefant. |
