Thread: Fallshirmjager usage7 Jan 2019, 16:45 PM Jump back to quoted post7 Jan 2019, 10:35 AMSander93 Meh, using them on mid-long range engagements makes them pretty bad compared to Volks as their DPS is not that much higher on those ranges and they lose 25% of it per dropped model as opposed to Volks who retain their highest DPS weapon untill the last two models. If you want mid range engagements you're better off with STG Volks, and for long range there's LMG Obers. Then on CQC they get outclassed a lot by STG44 Obers. Which effectively gives them no real use except for ambushes. You are really underselling their firepower. Yeah, having 4 models with the same weapon makes their DPS drop, but their weapons are basically 4 improved Bars and compared to Volks STG, they have basically double the damage at long range. They are "Must use cover" units, similar to PG. With the difference that they can engage at any range. Good thing on looking at the unit, is that after the revamp, i think they overlooked some changes when they modified their vet. Someone should really take a look at what they really get with vet, specially at vet 4, since in the SBPS files i can't find anything (i still use the file extractor). Changelog doesn't mention it but they didn't just moved the acc bonus but swap it with the self healing. In: COH2 Gameplay

For others readings, equation is way simpler than DPS calculations cause values are static, having the only value changing been the distance. Both USF mortar and OH mortar have the same scatter at range 75 for AUTOFIRE. (Barrage has different values). In: Lobby

Being said this i suggest the following rework: Rework Dshk as a "self protected" HMG with high calliber munition. Aestetically it already has a shield cover, when it sets up it gets green cover in the direction its aiming. This could help to deal frontal assaults (as they happen with maxims) and also become a posible way to hold off LVs as Dshk has big calliber and an ability dedicated to that. Since Dshk has its firing arc so narrow, flanking it is possible and also necessary since it could resist so much frontally. They wont be spammed because it would take a bu**load of them to cover big areas. If it's meant to work as AT guns, i'm sorry to say that we shouldn't rely on a function which is completely bugged. First, due to size and crew spreading, the only one benefiting from the cover should be the operator of the weapon. Secondly, while targeting may seem random at most times, the priority should be against the crew members instead of the operator unless the are no other valid targets. Thirdly, as i said before there's a problem with how AT gun cover work. Difference in range is also 5 and not that important. As i said, difference is minimal, but the values on scatter should vary if you are calculating it with 75 range or 80 range for a weapon with 80 range max. Or the ~~scatter~~ possible area on which the shell will land is exactly the same at 75 and 80 range? In: Lobby
