It's just pointless pedantic sophistry. How isn't from a practicality point of view? If you acknowledge a normal build with skipping lights it arrives later due to same fuel cost and difference on mp. What SU gains in 60 muni, OH gets it with 180mp. And they get a stronger medium tank. If you account for lights, you can either opt for both to get a FHT vs M5 Quad for similar resources spent. If you have to go for 222/FHT vs T70 it further pushes the argument that the T34 can't arrive faster than the PIV. Can we go back to the KV1, which is already justified in getting nerfs in preview patch? In: COH2 Balance

Why not mention the SOV muni advantage unless you're being disingenuous? I get that there are probably other things you want in a normal game, and I'm fine with discussing those. If you follow a straight path to the t-34 it arrives earlier than the pz4 though. Any deviation from that straight path is because you found something more valuable than having the t-34 at the earliest time. E: If you're going argue that you need to add optional tech for the reason of symmetry, then you haven't included bp3 and OST t4, or SOV T1 If you check the post, i mention the 60 munition for medics. I'm pointing out normal builds, specially on 1v1. Avoiding making any light is already a rarity. Teamgames allows for more diverse builds as you can practically skip a lot of things. Sure, you can say a T1 + T3 + T4 is the fastest route towards a T34 but that's not realistic. The same way in saying that BP 1 + BP2 + T3 is a build (which i've only seen in last years in Ostwind pre nerf era). In: COH2 Balance

Most players choose a t-70 beforehand which is an optional investment and for obvious reasons delays the t-34. I'm really tired of this myth that the p4 comes out earlier than the t-34 as it'd only be true if the t-34 is locked behind t-70, which it's not. OH: T1 + BP1 + T2 + BP2 + T3 + Medics = 770/175/60 SU: T2 + Medics + Grenades + T3 + T4 = 990/205 Both factions start with 20f and OH has a surplus of 30mp PIV: 350/120 T34: 300/90 Fuel wise they arrive at the same time while you still have an advantage mp wise. I put the stats for the weapon (prior to weapon profile rework). I'm not aware of any other source as any other had already been updated. Even if we go by the game release version pre rework of all profiles, it still had higher dmg output that PG STG44 at close range while retaining mobility advantage. The problem at that time, is that you could consider an LMG42 a close range weapon due to how profiles worked. Check my 2nd response to Vipper for context. In: COH2 Gameplay

The shell could just hit there. But shells following moving targets that can also fire super quickly is another level of nonsense. As i said, speed on delivery changes but we have plenty of pinpoint accurate offmaps which follows units. Sector artillery, Close the pocket, artillery cover, perimeter Overwatch (although those are onmap), Zeroing Arty. In: COH2 Balance

I don't think anything will change in that regard. Setting up your Elefant far behind your lines to safely reach the 17 pounder at its HD max range was easy enough before. The requiring infantry part was only too clumsy for things like Panthers that needed to be dug in often and at the front. Status quo hasn't stop us from changing things if they are deemed worth of change. I mention this cause i remember people complaining about JT outranging Pounder emplacement due to how hitbox works (even though both had same range). At some point after more Jaeger armor nerfs, i expect people to switch towards Fortified armor. In: COH2 Balance

I'm under the impression that it was still godly at close range. Not about the strength/balance, but rather the design. As Blackdream said in another thread, this is ability shoots pinpoint accurately on every visible tank. I am not arguing for realism in CoH2, but some authenticity should be in order. Out of all abilities, this is one of the worst offenders. It just doesn't make any sense. This ability feels like a guided laser shooting from space. And if you are visible for longer, it comes down at a huge ROF. And just by driving all of them miss as well which looks stupid as hell. Is there a possibility to make it an area-bound AT artillery that forces vehicles to move? Bigger explosions, but with scatter. Or targeted at a specific vehicle, which will then be bombarded with AT shells for as long as it is visible. Or random area bombardment with an AT strafing plane. Just something that makes a bit more "sense". Balance wise I think it is mostly fine, although it performs VERY good in team games because there are always enemy vehicles visible. Gonna point out that this is not the only offmap that works in the same way (pin point accurate). The difference is only the speed at which the shells arrive (and obviously the type of target or triggers) In: COH2 Balance
