Thread: Does anyone use the demo charge?2 Oct 2013, 08:39 AM After having watched a number of replays and the excellent VODs on this site, I have yet to see any skilled players use the demo charge. I could have missed it and would be happy to see any links. Or to have your experiences with it. My point is that it might actually be usefull in the early game to stop rushing strategies (early vehicles or elite infantry?). But the price (90 ammo) is somewhat prohibitive so it's hard to make it fit in. In: COH2 Gameplay

People don't use trip flares enough because there is already a gobsmackingly large amount of micro needed to play this game. This is probably true. I did try to use the trip wire systematically in a number of games to see if it could add something to a strategy. But I ended up concluding the same thing: the amount of micro spent is too high compared to the effect of the trip wire. I mean, most of the time noone dies from it anyway, but your micro is the same as laying a mine. I also tried out a number of suggestions from the forums to see if the trip wire might have a specialised use, but failed to find it convincing. This could just be me ofc. My APM isn't that good so have a go at it. I just doubt it will turn out differently. I think that trip wire, to be worth while should either do more damage, give LOS for longer or be quicker to lay. Or a combo of this. Otherwise, no. I'll leave it in the drawer. In: COH2 Balance

I only ever see conscripts walking through MG fire without a care in the world when this is true. Even if they just dip into it for a second, it seems to grant them a decent suppression resistance. Since I see my units get supressed in light cover too, I'm not convinced that this is a problem. However, if it is in fact that, I suppose it could somehow be fixed by decreasing the value of cover if the unit is moving? In: COH2 Gameplay

I had some of my conscripts crawling suppressed with exclamationmarks over their heads. I lasted 2-3 seconds. I don't think I had that happen before. Is it news? In: COH2 Bugs

Thread: Please give the MG42 back some bite and other musings1 Oct 2013, 12:41 PM To be honest it CAN happen on a freak occasion taht a single conscript makes it without suppression and without hooray. Just as I recently had one of the frequently mentioned single conscripts walk right into the cone (inadvertedly) of an MG. It was suppressed at burst 2 and lost one man. At burst 3 all the remaining 5 men died while having an exclamationmark over their heads. I was shocked, but eventually had to realise that s*** just happens. And it's actually part of the excitement in the game. In: COH2 Gameplay
