Overall the Vickers is rather garbage as a MG and is easily the worst in the game. Both MG42 and MG34 can easily shut down blobs, after the first few engagements (depending on map) around the 4-6 minute mark the Vickers loses its effectiveness as once the enemy gets his blob going they can simply attack the Vickers head on and kill it due to how long it takes for the suppression to kick in.


When it does kick in it will only be 1 unit suppressed(while MG42 and 34 have instant massive AOE suppression in comparison) and the Vickers will end up dead.

This is why I would like to see Vickers benefit from Bolster. It would be OK having a sub-par MG if it was more durable and would keep it unique instead of turning it into a MG-42 clone.

At the moment I don't bother with the Vickers at all when playing British due to how sub-par it is since the one thing I need it for it doesn't do a good job at. I have replaced the Vickers in my loadout with Universal Carrier since once upgraded with the MG it does a better job at the MG role and can support Infantry Sections better than the Vickers which dies once anything looks at it due to all MGs having 1.25 Rec Accuracy (25% increased chance to be hit)

The unit is fine and does not need a redesign. Also, the mod team has told you many times that saying the word "re-design" over and over again won't help them to make the unit better.

Agreed that the Penals are fine however considering that Vipper is usually biased and is basically trolling at this point with how he wants to nerf every single allied unit, I think his take on the argument is flawed but he would have some merit to his argument if he were to reframe the argument.

Vipper is obviously biased towards OKW which lack a decent non doctrinal AT Squad. If he were to make that case instead of spewing Nerf all the allied things then he would have a valid argument to make.

Whermacht have Panzer Grenadiers, Soviet have Penals, USF have Bazookas and UKF have Piats while OKW only have Sturmpioneers which if compared to Penals (or any other faction) are quite garbage. I wouldn't mind seeing PZB 39's on Volksgrenadiers as a Penal PTRS alternative or an additional Panzershrek upgrade on Sturmpioneers.

I believe that this happens because of some form of COH 2 memory related issue. I have a 4k Monitor and this happens to me as well. The only fix is to switch my resolution to 1080P to swap commanders/bulletins and then switch back.

I don't think it needs Brace.

Personally I would like to see Brace removed so we can work on making emplacements actually useful for British especially since they suck away your manpower like crazy.

The m1919 is decent but personally I don't feel it is not worth a commander slot and should be made baseline.

Also most of the time I get bars over the M1919 (though its pretty good on the Rear Echelon Troops)
