Lol I love this. I'd go Pioneer just for the stache. As much as I think your version of doctrines would have been a blast to play, they're committed to their commanders now and I don't foresee it changing. Great ideas for CoH3 though. |
Yeah, until the house critical thing is fixed (I'm assuming it's not intentional), the FHQ is waaay too risky for it's hefty cost. Maybe some 4v4 players will find a use for it but in 1v1, rifle nades or a single mortar will always be able to get into range of it. This is too bad because the doctrine feels lack luster with it's core ability (FHQ) dying so quickly. |

you guys ever watched the stream? it was said that these commanders gain pre-orders and DCE
I didn't watch the stream but I was just pointing out what the one guy meant so that the other guy wasn't offended. |
It does feel like a f2p style milking, only the game isn't free; it's $60. I'm really torn now; as a die hard, long term fan of the series, I really want CoH2 to be successful but now I also don't want to give them money for commanders and make SEGA feel like this shit system is the way to go in the future.
Edit: Also, no offense to the devs. I really appreciate that you guys listened and are adding new and interesting commanders, it's just a bummer that the system feels a bit like nickel and diming. |
stfu
He means they aren't free for anyone. |
I don't like this business model at all. Even if you don't count the balancing issues and the looming specter of pay to win, it just doesn't feel like we're getting much bang for the buck. Individual commanders so far have been what... $3 a piece? I paid AAA price of $60 for the game and now I need to spend $12 extra just to have the option to stay current with the meta? I paid $45 for Red Orchestra 2 new and the entire Rising Storm expansion was $15. Entirely new factions, maps, weapons, abilities, soundtrack, sound effects... $15. 4 commanders, $12... |
"useless" is not a term that should ever be used in balance discussion.
neither should getting personal.
neither a post that says "Is this really necessary?", when the irony is that your own post contributed even less to the topic, than the one you are addressing.
A post from you that contributed nothing would be a welcome relief from the constant stream of vitriol and inflamitory remarks in your writing. Also, my post had little to do with the relevant content of your post but rather it's childish and aggressive tone. That said, you are a hypocrite for claiming that one shouldn't get personal in a balance discussion and amazingly arrogant for thinking that your caps lock rant contributed anything greater than zero (read negative) to the discussion.
On topic, I think that the point blank dps of the lmg-42 could use a small nerf and the suppression of the hmg-42 at closer ranges a small increase. |
The japanese did fight the Soviet army on the asian mainland in the late 30ties and in Manchuria in 1945.
But if they were to be included I think a USMC vs Imperial Japan setup has tons of potential. Island battles, air and naval support etc. I Would love to play this.
They should latch onto "The Pacific" series really.
1000 times this! I would buy the game twice if they came out with a well done Imperial Army vs USMC. Units arriving from off map could come in on landing craft... Bonzai charges... Tommy guns, BARs, Nambus, Type 99s, rain storms, naval barrages, booby traps on everything... Holy crap I would play the heck out of that game! |
Soviet Shock is going to be scary. Shocks, mortar, ppshs, a howitzer AND the new improved air strike as a muni dump... Uh oh. Good luck keeping infantry alive. |
