For Soviets:
PPSH, Industry, Conscript Repair, Sherman, IS2
Alternatively:
Shocks, Guards, PPSH, Self Repair, T34/85 dual call-in
For Germans:
Troop Training, Panzer Tactician, Spotting Scope, Puma, Tiger Ace |
I think that not only should USA and Sovs be able to be on the same team, but also they should be able to match up against each other and themselves in automatch.
It's a video game, I enjoy it because having better micro and killing the other guy is fun, not cause the game is realistic. If I were playing for realism, I would've abandoned this game long ago.
Plus, it means faster queues. I would hate to see having to queue as only Americans vs OKW and Russia vs Ost. The already thin fanbase would be split by 50% again. That means at least twice as long waits. Fuck that. |
I think the problem with the doctrine lies in the fact that its abilities make it extremely potent early game, followed by the Tiger Ace/vet tanks with smoke that is potent late game. Most doctrines are either great early game at the expense of late game, great late game at the expense of early game or mediocre throughout. Elite troops is viable throughout the entire game with the Tiger Ace and vetting tanks.
I think the doctrine itself is the real problem, the troop training itself is alright. Maybe a slight fuel increase to make the fuel setback more noticeable. |
It's based on penetration if I remember correctly. I remember one of the recent updates changed it so target weak point only got a 2x penetration on the shot or something like that. |
\Maybe you can enlighten us how we should use the actual crappy german armor, in order not to be in every game overrun by hordes of t34s and shermans.
I don't know how you're being overwhelmed by hordes of T34s and Shermans. Shermans cost more than P4s and T34s preform worse while only cost 15 less fuel.
Keep your panzers at distance, they have high velocity cannons that will penetrate T34 at range more than the T34 will penetrate your panzer.
Alternatively, spam pumas. |
I've had some success using this Doctrine with relative flexibility.
I almost always start with 4 cons. Then after the 4th conscripts I have several options that I can use. I can go molotov and T2 for maxims if the german is going grenadier heavy.
If instead he went Assault grens or more than one support weapon (mortar and mg, 2 mg, etc.). I'll go for T1 and get a flamethrower on my engi for the scout car. In this case I usually will not get Molotovs in order to save the munitions on mines and AT nades. Then when they get out their own scout car, which is likely, I'll get AT nades and a DshKa to deal with it.
In both cases I'll almost always get T4 after my first Sherman call-in. Shermans are just too light armored to deal with Tigers and especially Panthers on their own, but are usually good enough that they can take T3 with a little luck or micro. Having the option for artillery is nice as well, given the doctrines distinct lack of arty.
T3 is nice, but I think it overlaps too much with the Lend Lease doctrine to be a good choice. With ram in its current state, it's not worth it to get T34s as a heavy tank disabler, and the Sherman seems to outperform the T34 in almost every category. You can already get the M5 from the doctrine, and with T70s costing 70 fuel, they just aren't worth it to build the T3 building to get them. You can get 2 shermans for the cost of building t3 and getting 2 t70s. |
More on the topic I don't think the Puma should start with the 2 cm, unless the upgrade is fairly expensive. Maybe a global upgrade from the tier building like for Shermans in vCoh. Having a vehicle that can destroy infantry early game and tanks late game sounds like a panzergrenadier squad on wheels, something I don't think is a good call. I'd rather have it remain a strictly anti-tank vehicle and have the Luchs be the anti-infantry tank for OKW.
But we'll see, no sense speculating on stuff we know nothing about. |
I believe that Puma penetration is biggest issue, 50mm should have difficulties in penetrating heavier tanks like KV-1 or T34-85 but seems that almost every shots penetrates those
I agree with this. I killed a KV2 yesterday with 3 Pumas. That just feels wrong. It should be able to penetrate T34 rear consistently, front occasionally. This way the Puma excels at flanks, but not in toe to toe combat. |
I like the idea of this patch but I think that Soviets are going to have a distinct lack of useful AT if they go T3. The raise in penetration is matched by a change in P4 armor, and ram being nerfed will make T34 all but worthless against heavy armor. I get the idea with the penetration at range changes, but I don't think the T34 is really that much faster than the P4 to say that it will be able to flank on a reliable basis, let alone a panther.
I just don't see how T34s are supposed to counter anything heavier than a P4 without ram, when now they cost as much as an Ostwind.
But we'll see I guess. Who knows. |
This doesn't work with abilities that have no cost.
I.E. Soviet Industry, Radio Intercept, Conscript Repair, Trenches, Tank Traps.
Also it's a bad idea in general. |
