Soviet land lease commander is the most you can hope for.
There was no soviet faction in vCoH, there will be no americans in CoH2, you troll yourself thinking otherwise.
They were planning on making a soviet expansion for vCOH before they dropped the game. So no it isn't so farfetched considering Coh2 spans an entire war rather then vCOHs one battle and there is a notable lack of other usable factions on the Eastern front. It is still very much a possibility to see western factions, even Japan. |
The answer was an employee of well-known relic in Reddit on commanders:
Q: How about an overhaul of some less desirable commanders? You pretty much never see over half of the commanders in the game because they just don't offer anything over the more conventional choices, and to be honest the patches so far have been making the situation worse.
A: No. It's unlikely that we'll overhaul already released Commanders in any significant way. Balance updates, sure, but nothing like changing out their powers and making them super-cool.
"Lol @ people who still believe that Relic will change units between commanders and tiers. I gave up on that hope a long time ago. The game is not in beta anymore." -Coffeebeanz
"I find your lack of faith disturbing..."-Pqumsieh

Wait does that mean no expansion? It just means we don't know what they are going to talk about. An expansion is still a possibility. |
First off, a big thanks to everyone who voted and to organizing this thread. It's great to get isolated feedback on the maps. We've been able to pull telemetry from the map vetoes to get a sense of what maps people like and dislike. so as a direct result from this poll and the data we've collected I can mention a few things.
Oka River will be removed from 2v2 automatch
Langres Winter will be removed from 1v1 automatch
Rzhev might return after a proper assessment
Cold tech and winter map design we'll be re-evaluated on future maps
keep the polls coming!!!
Thanks for listening. Keep up the good work. |
Not to burst everyone's bubble, but "next phase" doesn't necessarily mean new expansion. It might just refer to the next set of patches. |
Sounds OP as hell They are also 5 men squads with the same armor value as cons. They do a lot of damage but can't really take any. If they spawn in a bad spot they can get wiped very easily. |
Hi, just thought I'd share, I heard they are going to ditch the current commander model and move to 3 basic commanders available to everyone with branching ability trees. People who bought commanders or the collectors edition are awarded various customization options instead
The Soviet faction is also getting a major overhaul as in the ppshs and molotovs now being global fuel based upgrades. Relic is hoping this will add a new layer of strategic depth to the game. They are also considering making the T34/85 a purchasable global upgrade. More details about the overhaul will be explained at the event and from what I understood there are going to be some changes to the Ostheer faction as well. We will see.
Relic is also hyped for all the recent community activity and wants to support tournaments and events in any way they can, thus introducing the long awaited spectator mode with various customization options to make streaming and content creation that much easier. To promote the new spectating tools, they will also be announcing a new RELIC/SEGA tournament sponsorhip program. Relic is hoping this will gradually result in the game stepping up to meet the needs of the competitive scene.
The large update will also be accompanied by a sizeable amount of balance and bug fixes. Those are not yet disclosed but I heard Relic is doing their best to tone down the RNG aspects in various ways to remove any frustration while keeping the games interesting. Removing full squad wipes and fixing broken or non-functional abilities are at the top of their priority list at this point.
To top it off, they are proud to finally announce full modding support. Relic wouldn't go into too much detail about it yet, but said they are now working hard to make it all Steam Workshop -compatible for ease of use.
Dang, seems like a bright future for CoH2 after all
I was hoping there would have been something for the outdated replay system as well but this doesn't seem too bad to begin with |
I shudder to think how those squads will function. Each G43 rifle has more long range fire power than a vanilla grenadier squad. One of these squads have the fire power of 20 grenadiers! You would not even have to spawn them near the sniper, 1 volley at max range is enough to insta-gib both models.
Now that I think about it... Those squads would function just like snipers, except with 10 times more hp. They will most likely be very expensive. They are suppose to be the opposite of the partisan low-cost, low-value inflitration unit. They will be high-cost, high-value inflitration unit so they would probably be as expensive as shocks. |
Looks like I'm getting a nice birthday present from relic on the 28th. Can't wait! |
And its 960 HPs vice 1280 lets not omit that little fact...
It dies to things like the Elephant and Pak 43 just as fast as a KV1, KV8 and even the 800 HP T34/85 (three shots to do more than 800 damage correct me if I am wrong)
Thanks for answering better then i could. Overall IS-2 has less AT power to fight stronger tanks, which is why I would only really say it's good vs tank, when compared to the Tiger who faces weaker armor with better AT capabilities. |
