Yes, because I'm a diversity nut.
In mmos I can't play too long on main character, in shooters I frequently change my role, in rts I use various strats because it literally pains me if I need to repeat one over and over, so BALANCED DLC commanders are welcome.
You can call them P2W, but as you have seen with ET and SI, everything will be balanced at the end and since I'm planning on spending good few years with CoH2, I'm not going butthurt over something being too strong/too weak for some time, I'll simply adapt.
If commanders are balanced, relic can feel free to release as many as they can come up with, I'll get what I like and pass on the rest. The group that complained most about them were the idiots who thought they need to have all of them asap to stay competitive, ignoring the fact that default ones are still best ones.
There were mistakes with balance, but that got sorted and we can hope for new, balanced commanders in the future.
And if you complain about commander DLCs breaking the balance temporarily, then you should go batshit crazy over the new factions being added, because that will break the balance more then any commander so far and for much longer, see that current two factions are starting to get pretty balanced after 9 months, imagine what will happen if you throw 2 more into the mix. It will be OF all over again.
Well said. You definetly aren't alone in this opinion. Keep the DLC coming! |
What's even the point of conscripts if penals just do their job much better. If cons have the bolt action profile they should be good at long range, atleast as good as grens, and suffer at close range.
With all the upgrades grens get for long range later there is really no need for them to have that sort of initial difference. |
Judging from their reaction from the 25 march patch,I think their reaction will be:"More americans, they will fix all balance issues"
It actually might. I bet those panther hordes running around in 4v4 might think twice with amercan infantry AT around. What if the americans also come with a opel blitz truck like ability? Could even things out a bit. |
They also lack the pistol holster on their front and the 2 bags on their sides.
Well I don't think you can blame me for getting them mixed up. They look very similiar. |
Ok so an outdated light tanks getting so hard buffed that it can deal with a big Monster IS-2 tank?I think this would look curious.I know this game isn t really realistic but i think this would be over the top.
I'll post this one more time so you can see it. |

Axis tank Production:
Japan: 2,515
Japan build alomst no tanks during WW2.
And about good guns: most japanese tanks had a tiny short 37mm and 47mm guns that could not deal with a sherman. Japanese tanks with a more powerful 75mm gun were just prototypes which never saw any combat.
If you add a army to the game you have to ask the question if this army is fun to Play or fit well with the other factions. And if USA, Germany and soviet Union have many cool medium and heavy tanks i don t think an army with only outdated, weak light tanks like japan is much fun to Play nor does such an army fit well into the game.Japan never focused on tanks during WW2 thats why they only had light Support tanks that couldn t deal with other tanks.
and there was only ever 50 ostawinds ever built. Real life numbers mean nothing in this game and the japanese will have whatever number of tanks they need and whatever stats they need to be balanced. |
The problem is, Japan didnt really need much of a land force. They had a superior navy and air force, but this game mainly focuses on ground combat. With what little Japan had on the ground compared to other factions, it would be hard to keep them from getting owned each game unless they were able to call in a million air raids and naval bombardments.
That's because of the lack of resources, but in game resources are usually very similiar and dependent on how well you. There is no reason for them to have less of anything. The only thing that is important for a faction in this game is veriety which they had plenty of. MGs, mortars, smg, lmgs, they have everything except heavy tanks, but the americans didn't have any either. They even had a few tank destroyers to take out the heavier stuff.
And most importantly they had unique tactics. They could build tunnel systems to flank armies, banzai charges can suppress units, men running under tanks with mines. They would be a very cool and fun unique faction.
Men of War, which is a much more realistic game, even has a japanese faction |
Aww, but they're wearing the brown winter coats in the summer, that makes no sense. C'mon Relic, if this is true then that's pretty dumb. There were/are other ways of making them stand out without giving them winter coats.
And btw a lot of US infantrymen wore those coats during winter, not just engineers.
I'm pretty sure they used the coats in more then just winter, but they are iconic for it. Remember that relic needs to make the troops easy to identify so they often wont have completely accurate uniforms. It's why shocks have armor even though it was engineers that had them, and all guards wear capes. |
next ex-pack will probably be Desert Rats vs Afrika Korps for a third flavour of the reich!
Unfortunatly they can't really just make africa armies. The equipment won't be advanced enough to take on the stuff we already have in game. That doesn't mean we won't see the desert rats call-in in a brit faction though. |
Yeah that's a lot clearer then the stuff I was looking at. Those are carbines. |
