Thread: Rifle smoke and mortar, pick one.28 Jun 2016, 06:58 AM I think both are fine. Mortar is something you get early in preparation for MG spam or garrison heavy maps. Nades are something you get later on to help your rifles keep mobility, but they really aren't a true counter to MGs since they can always reposition. Once the nerfs for the mortar come through all these complaints will end. People are just frustrated from getting recked by an OP unit. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Mortar Tech Tree Placement25 Jun 2016, 19:10 PM The entire point of the mortar was to add diversity to USF opening, and so they can actually engage garrisons in the first few minutes of the game. Your suggestion basically doesn't address the reason the mortar was added in the first place. Once the mortar gets some well deserved nerfs to it's stats it will be just fine. Just like it was fine in the mod before they replaced it with a mortar that was twice as good for no reason. In: COH2 Balance

No it still has like half the scatter and fires almost twice as fast as the ostheer mortar. The patch only removed the super range. In: COH2 Balance

I was getting a lot of controversy over the proposed mortar addition before the patch hit. So I'm here to say that I was right about it being op. Mgs are now being too threatened to use unless you kill their mortar. no you're still wrong because the point you were trying to make is that USF having a mortar at all is overpowered, which isn't true. The real truth is that the us mortar is just overpowered and shoots almost twice as fast and more accurately then every other mortar and after a nerd it will be just fine. In: Lobby

At least this time they aimed too high, unlike the rest of the entire USF faction at release. BTW wasn't the mortar in the mod weaker? In: COH2 Balance
Thread: USF Blobs24 Jun 2016, 19:14 PM Because I've yet to see a thread about zook blobs without first mentioning okw schrek blobs. Basically zook blobs have enough drawbacks to balance it, drawbacks that volks blobs did not have. They also need it at times to combat axis heavy TDs, unlike OKW who mostly used it to insta-wipe mediums since allies lack heavy TDs of any kind. In: COH2 Balance
