Shermans are pretty strong. Have you tried a pak43 commander? Since the last patch, I like to play joint operations commander when I play OST. The sherman commander has no arty. That is his weakpoint. Your opponent will have a hard time to knock out a well positioned pak43 without arty. Of course you still need P IV near the pak to protect it. |
I think that Relic needs to tweak the AOE-Profiles. For me, that is causing the most problems because inf dies like flies now. No one can deny the fact, that soviet mines wipe entire squads now more often than before the patch. T34 are inf killing machines and do pretty good vs German t3 armor as well. Schrecks almost make no sense anymore because one t34 shot and at least two men are down. But also German tanks like the Tiger wipe whole Soviet squads in one shot. That has happened like 5 times now to me and has never occured before the patch. I think if Relic deals with squad wipes through AOE, the two factions are pretty much balanced. |

I'm not saying the patch was bad guys. Well, good for the game, shit for soviets, but next patch will probably solve it.
But it comes too late. People ask for this since alpha.
You guys will also applaude when Relic will give you an observer mode when it should have been here since day 1.

It's so awesome that they decide to change everything, one year after release.
By introducing changes of that magnitute, it is quite normal that some further patches are required to balance details then. One can ask why these large patches are necessary. I think the answer is that Relic neither had the resources nor the time to implement all that stuff due to the THQ insolvency. The good thing about all these big changes is, that players can be sure that Relic really is going to support COH2 for the next years as they are telling. A company wouldn't invest that many resources into a game that they don't want to continue. |

The balance team just finalized a 14 page document for the upcoming update. The typical update is 3-5 pages, last update was 8. Let's be honest Napalm, if we just adjusted small arms then Soviets might be even for the first 10 minutes but they will still struggle in the mid to late game.

I do best with T1 start for 2 penals, then 2 cons, followed by a guards squad. Before the guards are out, you can build ammo op because you need to upgrade penals and guards. Then you see how the match develops and either add a penal squad or a guards squad. Wait for t34/85 and save ammo for mark target. |

No. Cons get easily beaten by 190 mp pio squad. They are already weak enough and aren't worth more than 200mp. |
Make cons cheaper ---> 200mp should be right for what they deliver at the moment.
Make ooorah for free so that cons always have a chance to sprint towards grens and throw a molotv. Right now, especially in the beginning of the match, Soviet players spend so much ammo on ooorah, so that they don't have enough ammo left for molotvs and later on for at nades.
Make penals 240mp because penals aren't better than grens but they aren't worse either.
Nerf German pioneers or buff Soviet combat engineers. They cost the same but pios perform much much better.
Reduce Soviet t1 and t2 building times to German t1 building time, so that Soviets get similar equally strong units on the field at the same time as Germans. |
