When I finally got matched (it was always the same guy), he only wanted to defend his base (layed wire around it). I then decided to leave the alpha. Especially, I see a problem in not being able to have the alpha installed as a separate install (or is there?). If there is a way to separately install it, I return to it. In: Lobby

There is only cheaper infantry in the game . No one says that Shocks should not be the most powerful infantry of the game. What we are saying, is that they should go back to 2 cp and be just a little less durable. Shocks are meant to be countered by vehicles but they overperform a little against infantry. They are still relatively cheap for the power they offer. So, make them a little less durable or a little more expensive. 73 MP for one squad member is too less MP. One Pgren costs you 90 MP. And sure, Pgrens can be upgraded with powerful AT but that costs you a lot of ammo (120). Moreover, if you upgrade them, they don't stand a chance anymore to infantry, especially not vs. shocks. Shocks have a bit over 50 dps(excluding reload). It is not so much about DPS but rather about how much damage they can take. Who cares about DPS if shock troops are walking panzers so that they last longer in a fight forcing your opponent to retreat? In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: video of how broken shocks are.3 Feb 2014, 18:56 PM Shocks are a little too strong (durable) and come too early. 440 MP for 6 men are about 73 MP per man. 360 MP for pgrens devided by 4 men are 90 MP per man. Still, shocks kick pgrens asses. You usually don't manage to kill more then 2 shock squad members before you have to retreat. I know that shocks are call in units. But that does not justify that discrepancy. Furthermore, a lot of Soviet Commanders feature them. In: COH2 Gameplay

Thread: Tiger or Panther?28 Jan 2014, 12:27 PM In 1vs1, I would choose tiger because the first tiger will cost you about 60 fuel less than getting the first panther. Even a second tiger would be cheaper in terms of fuel by 5 fuel. My calculation: 115 fuel to tech from t2 to t4 and build it, then 145 fuel to build the panther. That adds to 260 fuel. While for the tiger you can simply stop teching at t2 and need to spend 200 fuel for getting it. A second tiger costs you again 200 fuel while the panther only costs you another 145 but you still have to take the plus 60 fuel from the first panther into account. That only consideres fuel of course. Tiger costs you 180 mp more than a panther but that is neglectable in my opinion. In 2vs2 it depends from what your mate does. There is no general recommendation possible from my perspective. In: Ostheer Strategies

I recognized that tanks usually pick the worst squad member to aim at. That is usually the squad member standing at the outmost left or right of a squad. The tank would do much more damage if it aimed for the squad member in the mid of the squad. That is particularly annoying when you aim at a blob with Brummbär. Stay real. In: COH2 Gameplay
