Thread: Why are tank traps destroyable by tanks in 1 shot?26 Nov 2013, 16:49 PM Jump back to quoted post21 Nov 2013, 16:24 PMrofltehcat Tank traps have 35 armor (= pretty much immune to small arms but vulnerable to everything else) and 250 hitpoints. 250 hitpoints are 2 hits from a Pz4/Stug/AT gun/Su-85 or 3 hits from a T-34/Panzerschreck (actually 2 hits and then a little more). Remember that you normally have to destroy at least 2 to fit through and not each of your shots will hit them, so it will take a while for your opponent to break through. In any case, nearly no units actually 1-shot those things. If you find your tank traps to be destroyed that easily you maybe didn't finish them (ghost tank traps?). I prefer tank traps that can be dealt with within reasonably over tank traps that are pretty much indestructible. This way it can still delay the enemy tanks, allowing you to reposition your AT units and thwart his plans by delaying flanks. If tank traps were to be tougher, they'd need to cost resources. Be careful what you wish for. perhaps you have never used them but you dont have to destroy even one to fit trough. i dont know what was the purpose of that design. ¿make you click 2 more times? There'd be reason to build them, especially for the Soviet side, to provide additional capping power to be annoying in garrisons. Considering the Soviets get the individual mine for 7 munitions, I'm not sure if the Germans should get it for 20 munis. germans should get AI mine for 20 munitions. and russians should not get AI mine for 7 munitions In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Soviet Defensive Commander Strategy23 Nov 2013, 14:49 PM conscript conscript t1 penal penal upgrade both to flamers. by this time you should react to german tactics. too many mg-mortars? m3 scout car with penals to many grenadiers? concentrate your forces with penals leading the front then you call mg and or heavy mortar according to situation upgrade to at nades by the time light cars start rolling. if you are going to use the light at guns remember they work better the more they are. 1 at gun sucks 2 at guns are ok 3-4 at-guns are beast. don't reinforce penals directly instead use your conscripts as reinforcing machines saving the penal the time to go back or the extra manpower penal cost to reinforce. lategame go t4 and make an su tankhunter. leave it behind he is more of a mobile anti tank source to protect your less safe flanks from a tank rush. after it make a katyusha and start bombarding away. with this strat you will float a lot of munitions since is based on avoiding the use of molotovs. use those extra munitions on antipersonal mines and anti tank mines. If we take the new commanders out of the equation, the balance improved significantly post-patch. The % of players in automatch finally equalized a bit. although i do agree with you. the GAME is not half game the whole game is standard units+ commanders hence the whole game is unbalanced. I dont enjoy winning with Sov Defence much, I hate being beaten by it. Its horrible getting rolled by Tiger Ace in a game you dominated, although I do enjoy doing it myself lol. I dont enjoy playing Industry, but I hate facing it if it means getting T70 rushed to death. i had written the same thing but i lost my post to bad connection. its the same thing for me. i acually unistalled the game. because of it. im not willing to wait 5 years for this game to get good. a shame. i might install it again though its the only strategy game i like because it also include tactics. also is that the commander business model wont change that. this is a proper games workshop approach. you release an army book with new models and updated rules that makes the current newest army stronger. forcing players to buy those new models and win games. the new commanders will always be stronger than the current ones to encourage sales. and this only makes me feel like they think i am a fucking 12 year old power hungry boy.
