The strategy frankly is simple. Build conscripts til you can't build conscripts no more, then build more when you can. Radio intercept tells you when all their units come out and if you should get molotov (against medic truck) or AT nade (against mech truck). You may need to pop T2 for the ZiS but otherwise, simple spam conscripts (and maybe a flamer engie or 2 to throw down mines against vehicles) until t38-85s, then spam T34s and conscripts.
It actually works is the sad part |
The panther historically had heavier frontal armor than the tiger
Its gun also penetrated more armor
But its gun also did less damage
This is fairly simple guys. It's a medium-heavy hybrid tank that is excellent at fighting tanks and decent at fighting infantry. That's how it is in the game and how it should be (although perhaps its AI could be buffed but otherwise its bloody fine) |
No offence but shit. You know what the Soviets need? You know what the Soviet REALLY need? More machine guns. Having 6 maxims on the field just isn't enough |
I'm a USA player, and thus 40% of the time I'm playing OKW to know my enemy.
Anyways, I'm pretty good in the early game but I just melt late game. I have troubles with late game micro, especially coordinating attacks and ATG usage. I'm looking for a high level player if possible to spar against late game. |
How so? It's mediocre against infantry and nothing special against tanks. It's the only decent tank the USF has.
Way to respond to my points though |
How do I make the Bazooka not useless? If I made zook squads, they just get taken down. If I spread zooks across my squads, they lose to any infantry because their limited firepower is further reduced. Dual BAR seems to be required for surviving.
Furthermore, even when zooks pen, they do stupidly little damage. I can't justify the munitions cost, yet I am getting owned because a blob will run right in and take out my ATGs, then mass shrek my E8s/Jacksons |
The Easy 8 is a very good tank but Axis players have got it all wrong about the balance.
1. It's still inferior to the panther, tiger, and anything else heavy. It can manhandle the P4 and Stug but it's going down against a panther unless the panther is damaged
2. Yeah you can pop a 2nd Easy 8 and have tank superiority but one slight problem. They're still fragile compared to axis tanks and they are micro intensive. You lose an E8 and that's it. Sure, the same applies to a panther, but it's easier to micro only 1 unit.
3. This is the most important point. Consider the context. Axis late game is so much stronger. The E8 is a deathblow. Consider the infantry AT weapons supporting the panther and the E8. The bazooka is worthless almost. It doesn't do any damage if it pens. The shrek on the other hand can really mess up an E8. And if you're fighting tank to tank without supporting arms, you're a fucking noob. The Rakten sucks yes but you don't need it if you have panthers out. Shreks supporting a panther are fine.
This all comes down to map of course. But most maps in COH 2 are small for some reason, which favors Axis tanks. |
This could very well be a viable strategy in a 4v4 with some OKH trucks and caches |
On gamereplays.org, it was really nifty to be able to filter out replays so that you only saw expert replays. Is there a way to do this on coh2.org? I really miss this feature. |
I did it as OKW to a hard AI; no rage just a tip
I found it out incidentally because I have the AI baselocked |
