The only reason Germans use so much Muni is because they have a shit tonne of upgrades to slap onto their squads. Otherwise they're identical. The MU float is a byproduct of a less combat effective infantry unit(When taking into account upgrades). That's exactly what he said? Not a shit tonne, just a few(four) that cost an arm and a leg and almost required to make inf units even viable or a doctrine not useless and half the abilities are useless, per inf cloak only in cover?pass. Add a 50 munition grenade only capable of killing half a squad at best and you have a massively munition depleted faction. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Tank MP7 Aug 2013, 20:36 PM Tanks are already expensive fuel wise. No matter how much mp you save cause of low tank mp costs fuel cost are always high. Insanely higher than coh and fuel is always the least available resource. If you can afford to spam tanks, that means you are winning the resource war already so why is that unfair? In: COH2 Balance

Will be worse vs. inf (without changing it's use vs. tanks) giving more reasons to go ostwind first for anti-fantry. the more people that go ostwind first the more t-34's become useable to counter ostwinds. People who still go p4 first will have less good anti-infantry power. Depending on how much it effects p4's you will end up with a similar although still more effect situation that the su85 is in at not being good unless there are tanks to kill. Using guards, atgs and at nades it shouldn't be too hard to ward off p4's till tanks arrive. P4's where too good vs. infantry and tanks before. People who go ostwinds first lose, because if you have an ostwind and a p4 vs 1 or let alone 2 su 85s you lose. Ostwinds are so fuel expensive, it makes no sense what-so ever to build one knowing you already are facing an uphill battle fighting su 85s. In: COH2 Balance

Maybe Ill play again when something exciting changes, but I feel your anguish as I used to have 3 day marathons with vcoh. There just seemed like an unending amount of new strats you could come up with, remember jeep/bike spam lol!!Pio spam! KETTEN SPAM! Even vet 3 stug spam...sigh. Or will you make up other things to justify it. At guns demolish it? Really? Are you talking about pak 40s? Really? If pak40s didn't suck so hard, I dont think su85s would be such a pita. But since pak40 is almost useless as anti tank, taking on su 85 requires.... Su 85 owner to be brainless Su 85 owner goes so deep into enemy territory that no reverse turbo boosters can save it A drive around the map with a panther so you maybe can sneak up behind it without it turbo reverse sniping. A pak40 and su85 users child jumping into their lap keeping them from turbo reversing while pak 40 misses or fails to penetrate most of the 10-15 shots it will take trying to kill an su 85.\ A PAK43 and a non attentive su 85 user who strays in the limited range of the immobile cannon and stays there. a non attentive Su 85 user who stands there while tank is hit with panzerschrecks, instead of just turbo reversing. Thread: Will COH2 get more 1v1 players ?16 Jul 2013, 21:00 PM My reason for not playing it much is 1vs1 just is not laid as well as original. Reusing 2vs2 maps for 1vs1? When one faction can cap with cars from almost start of game, and then cap with tanks. Trying to fight hit the dirt spam, and clown car spam. And then su 85 spam. cheap flamer clown cars negate any mg lock down you can do. Build order is almost always the exact same for both factions.1vs1 needs a complete rethink of map designs and resource allocation. Trying to fight free hit the dirt and clown car spam when resources are already low, and trying to out cap one side that excels at being mobile......If scout cars didn't come so ridiculously early than german t1 wouldn't be totally negated, both teams then wouldn't be forced into the same build order over and over. Thread: SU-85; The Thread13 Jul 2013, 23:34 PM Just make it need a spotter, drastically reduce reverse speed and accuracy while moving, and it wouldn't be such a difficult unit. The way it is it's easy for it to get itself into a bad position, and then fight it's way backwards out of it. Remember how the stug in vcoh was king of the battlefield for a few minutes(earliest cheapest tank)but it couldn't just go all nilly willy. If a m8 caught it in a bad position there wasn't any speed reversing high accuracy shooting. It made a bad choice, it was now dead. The Su 85s has all the benefits of a long range turretless tank destroyer with none of the drawbacks. Or do one thing make it not able to shoot at all while driving backwards. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Great, they switch the MG spamfest to Ostheer13 Jul 2013, 22:36 PM The point is being missed, it's not about hard counters only, it's about soft counter not actually being effective which means they are no real counter at all . And hard counters being only useful as hard counters. M8 was hard counter to mg, useful vs everything else. Upgraded puma was a hard counter to m8, but retained usefulness even after m8 was gone. Mgs armor piercing rounds were a soft counter to m8s and half traks. M8 mines were a soft counter to early stugs. Upgraded circle flanking m8s were a counter to stugs. Pio mines(affordable) were soft counters to marauding m8's/jeeps. Multiple upgraded Pumas were soft counters to an m10. I can go on and on about soft counters in Coh. Something which I can not do about Coh2 In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Thoughts on unit diversity - especially Soviet13 Jul 2013, 22:16 PM With only 2 types of combat inf, mediocre support units(compared to counterparts and cost to actual killing ability) a useless at gun, 1 decent battle tank (Panzer 4), 1 decent and expensive anti armor tank (Panther). A massive and great heavy tank (Elefant) but so expensive no one buys it unless they already have won the game. A Heavy tank that isn't worth half of it's cost. ( Why anyone buys a Tiger when a panther is more cost efficient is beyond me) I feel like I have an army that falls short and constricted by shortfalls and lack of options. I'd rather have the old wehrmacht back, then the rag tag bunch units we have now. There are just so many gaps, that they don't feel like an army that was prepared,equipped and trained.
