SOV just doesnt have one and USF's 50 cal has to be used ultra defensively. M15 AAHT is super nice though. its. AOE suppression is what makes that unit useful even to the latest of the late game imo. The biggest problem it has is blob control. Anymore than 1 upgraded units that aoe will mean nothing against a direct frontal attack. In: COH2 Balance

All Ost units perform well, with the exception of the sniper , mg42, and panzerwrfer. Tech costs are ost main problem. This faction will be viable in ones again, simply by making tech cost viable. Panzergrens do NOT perform well. They are the worst inf ost has now due to cost vs survivablity. The damage they inflict is in the least likely of all ranges and they are soft and squishy with a insane premium cost. Most would not call stugs performance well. This is why cas and mech ass is the overwhelming doc choices. Ostheer has a hard time dealing with inf hordes and these docs can somewhat make them more manageable In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Ostheer - MG42 10 Mar 2015, 01:54 AM The mg42 originally in coh was compared to other weapons a good representation of its battlefield performance. In coh2 originally it was intially the best mg in game. But since coh2 is full of whiners it got nerfed into the pathetic form it now resides. They went way to far with the nerfing every aspect of the gun. And now it has all the disadvantages it had as originally designed plus all the added disadvantages they added in to please the lynch mob. So now it doesn't perform it's job well in addition to the 90 year old men they replaced the crew with. According to Soviet players the mg42 is fine now, so it's probably beating a dead horse advocating for a buff. The only choices left are, use it and be godly with it, use it poorly, or gren spam. Having more gameplay options in an RTS is an inherent advantage. Paying for new factions is one thing, but paying to make an existing faction more robust is an entirely different situation. You shouldn't have to pay a cent in order to ensure you're on an even playing field with your opponent. You're right, they need something. But they need something that will preserve gameplay integrity at the same time. A system that is extremely detrimental to your most dedicated players is not the answer. Even with it's pay to win coho online was regarded as a great game(in the top 20 greatest of all times even). There was never any shortage of people online. It had so much variety that any shortcomings could be esily overlooked. Fun trumps fair when you are talking about any game in my opinion. Coh2 lacked variety from the get go and then came the nerfing sprees and the unique but gimmicky wf factions. People aren't talking about how fun the game is but whats wrong with it. I'm ok with Relic charging for some things as it a business with bills to pay and mouths to feed. I would much rather them work on fun things that affect actual gameplay rather than useless placeholder items that people won't buy anyway. In: Lobby

Thread: Best ideas you've heard today25 Feb 2015, 08:28 AM self spotting for P4s is negligebly useful. As soon as it moves It wouldn't be able to shoot at what it spottted anyway. Im not saying some may find a use for it with p4 but it has no effect of making a p4 superior. Hull down is not devine enough to keep your p4 alive. Its a shoot me to death quickly sign. The pintle mg is not as good vs inf as the t34s main gun vs inf and the p4s main gun is mediocre vs inf so that does not give the p4 a anti inf advantage, and certainly not a far superior advantage . You use reigel half traks often good for you. Most people who want mines just use pios and save the fuel because it really makes no sense to use a fragile unit with crappy pathing, miniscule anti inf capability to lay mines with muntions you probably can't spare anyway. Soviets have at nades, works way more reliably and cheaper then pray for it to work/or fire even, pak stun shot. In: Lobby

Spotting scope is almost of no use for a PIV as it doesn't have range to out-shoot anything. The at stun shot? Does that even work now? Mg upgrade is superior? I think not Reigel mines lol? Who even builds half tracks to lay mines ever? Ambush camo lol.. cmon really man you are just reaching for straws now. None of these things are as godly as you seem them to be Your rationale is the axis have stuff. Guess what? the Soviets also have stuff. If you could spam t34s 85 like t34/75s the game would be over as soon as the second one rolled out. Or roll back the stug to pre nerf status and keep panther cost the same. Or give stug strong frontal armor like it had originally. But without some tradeoffs #1 alone would just cause the axis factions to get steamrolled. In: Lobby

Most people in the history of mankind expect things named version 2 to be an improved verion of 1 not something loosely related to previous versions.If that WAS the intent, why would the name be coh2. It insane to say that oh coh1 isnt as good as coh2(opinion) because its coh2, a whole new game. Cmon now. Thats like buying a 2015 model car after trading the 2014 model car and finding you have bought a crappier car. And the dealer saying "what did you expect something as good or better?" Im not trying to bash coh2 really but the doc system is bleh and the only doc people are really finding useful is mech assault. This doctrine is basically a coh1 storm doctrine light and hence why it is the most popular. In: COH2 Balance
