Blitz doesn't increase speed anymore. It is your fault for having your Panther out of position. I know tank positioning is new to German players but now you can't just go kart all over the battlefield using your Panther to cover your entire army.
WA? I said nothing about a panther karting all over the map. I said a Tiger exactly on the rear of an Kv8, even with blitz couldnt keep up with it. Anyway, who can afford Tigers with Panthers anymore in less than a 3v3? |
with a free weekend its too early to say if the patch made perceived balance more equal from just people choosing a faction.
The blitz nerf was a little too far imo. With the range/sight of Su 85s(isu's) and the need to suicide rush it, I saw it as a necessity. I understand the it was a get out of jail free card argument, but while nerfing it's Houdini escape act, the offensive capability was killed. There has to be somewhere in-between only useful for getting through mud, and Im in trouble let's get out of here. |
That is not what blitz is for anymore.
I was right behind it. If it cant at least stay with a tank its right behind there is no real use for it.You say thats not what is for as if it was designed to be this way. Blitz was designed to make tanks go faster period. And then it got nerfed. Its was blitz since coh1. And then in coh2 its not blitz. It's push this button to dump munitions. So again this argument that it was broken and now its what it was supposed to be is crap. It wasn't designed to be useless it was just nerfed that way. |
I spent the last game chasing a kv8 with a tiger and couldn't catch it even with blitz, as it roasted the rest of my army. Blitz is useless might as well give vet 1 a fireworks display or parade confetti.Blitz does not work great it is horrible. Paying precious munitions for that split second of acceleration hardly helps you get anywhere quicker, which is no blitz at all. At least rename the ability to "not blitz". |
the problem is
that grens win long range, but con's dont necessarily win close range
(it's determined by RNG)
so just make them beat grens close range 100% of the time and you have a balanced unit
like volks and rifles in coh1 Volks were your early game only inf until you got to grenadiers. If you make cons win every close range battle 100 percent of the time all anyone has to do is get close. With oorah, how would you even be able to stay on the field with your mainline infantry. |
I stopped building pgrens after this patch, they get beat by conscripts fairly easily. Yes they are the king of mid range but thats the least likely of ranges to be fighting at, so with the high reinforce cost, there is only their role as at inf that makes them worth building. |
And on another note this doctrine sucks balls. 3 command points and 250 apiece for osttruppen. Puma is... cant tell yet but costly. 45 munitions for a 0 cp ability that barely speeds up neutral capping. Why! would anyone ever ever ever use premium priced osttruppen and 45 munitions to save a few seconds of capping? |

none of that is really weakness if your enemies cant get close to you. If you let them get close to you, in the words of the great mastermind Herman Cain "Blame Yo self". Sov players talk about the greatness of Elefant but in truth it never earns it keeps. Its more of a idle threat than an actual. Or it is a ram magnet. Both of which is probably not the intended use when someone buys it. |

Having to rely on one doctrinal unit to fight one unit is bad game design. When the Tiger ace was the king of coh2 Soviet players obviously saw the design flaw. Now Sov players have a Tiger Ace that can one/2 shot everything and shoots at arty range and everything is ok? This thing has range, armor and punch vs everything. In order to get close to it, you have to kill the rest of the sov army while getting pummeled by it's cannon. This thing now has no weaknesses and thats a really bad design. |
they are a inf/at weapon they do alittle bit of both now.
With a emphasis on little. |
