Basically most of these maps are like that. So, a good solution is re editing these maps and also have a map contest! |
sov fangirl trying to say that 1cp shocks is good.
lol, he is saying that guards are a larger issue. Both of them are horribly placed at 1 cp. |
Lol is this thread a joke? Pgrens are very easy to deal with even with just conscripts. They are just huge manpower sinks.
LMG grens are IMO, so much better.
This. Guys they have the same suitability as grens. Just snipe them, mine them, nade them, roast them. T70 them is also great. Remember that they don't have fausts so m3s are deadly against them.
I too just use grens with lmg or g43 it depends what doctrine I choose. |
Pretty sure shocks were well used at 2cp's. They don't have AT because they are used by soviets looking to add to their arsenal with AI. Also shocks are free to pick up weapons and make short work of tanks if they get a shrek. That first statement you make is completely incorrect and non-logical.
You can't spam PG's against guards because that player often goes snipers. If you spam PG's you lost on mp bleed. Guards stand a great chance against PG's. You can use their grenades to hurt PG's bad. In addition, I use guards to take on PG's regularly. They just need to be in cover before the PG's arrive. Which they will be because they come out before and you should have map control by then.
Also in a 2v2 shocks and guards are both deployed at the same time. How exactly do you stop these two units when the units designed to stop them are already hard countered before they enter the field?
Wong I really encourage you to read more of Gustav's thread about early elite infantry (http://www.coh2.org/topic/12160/shocktroops-at-1cp). You will learn a lot, and be disabused of the notions that elite troops at 1cp are good.
I also encourage you to link to your player card so I can see just where you sit in the rankings. I am having a really hard time understanding how you are coming to your conclusions. Feel free to look me up my name here is the same as the one I use on Steam.

and that is the problem.
Not really. I'm not complaining about Mg42s or shocks. Im just saying that method wouldn't work. But I misunderstood what he said. If you play against something you know its strengths while if you use it, you know its weaknesses better. |
nope |
Really?
I've used MG42's against Shocks effectively by doing exactly what Oz has said. The suppression gives you enough time to reposition. If you use your MG42 unsupported then to be honest you deserve to lose the game. They are NOT units that survive unsupported, you need the rest of your forces around to give support.
Double MG's are also great against shocks, you can just trap them in a kill zone, even if they throw a smoke grenade. And again obviously the two machine guns are supported by grenadiers and other units. This prevents flanking. Also when the shocks throw smoke a rifle grenade can cause major damage while they are suppressed.
I still don't think shocks belong at 1 CP but at the moment that is what we have to deal with.
Well I never use mg42s, I'm saying this is what I do to MG42s. |
ISU152 needs a buff??? looooooooool
It wipes out any squad approaching to it in seconds, it can also 3-shot kill a Panzer 4, Elefant needs 4-5 shots to kill it, it counters PaK's, MGS...Mortars.., it is anti-everything, and add to that shocks and guards spamm...
And you want to buff more that thing?
I don't get it also, it's probably my favorite vehicle to use in the game. And the thing is that it doesn't cost 290 fuel it costs 260. ISU is fine at the moment. Have guards by it to button any flanking vehicle will make it unstoppable especially if you have mark target. |
50 percent of people think it's overpowered while another 50 percent of people think it's not overpowered. We have finally achieved balance.
As for the forum, ever since Nullist left, it seems like the forum has been much more unbiased and threads don't result in a internet fist fight. A lot of the posts that are discussing balance are about exploits now, not the core balance. |
Oz, it seems like your playing against some dumbass opponents. They either smoke before and go in and nade you. Or go in get suppressed , use smoke, and throw a nade at the new deployed spot. Kill 1-2 of your crew, if you don't retreat by them your most likely dead since shocks can still do some great dps even though they are suppressed. Then kill off your mg42 entirely, steal it, and they receive a shock troop mg42, the best anti infantry unit in the game.
Or simply post a replay.
If this is 1 vs 1, I just go for an early flametrack. If this 2 vs 2 then, I tend to rush to ostwind. Either way they should be 2 cp. I personally like guards more though. |
