i agree, grens need some form of help, a very slight received accuracy at vet 3 to buff their effective hp to ~500 ish will be sufficient, as they still have dps and amazing nades at their disposal and with dps, they can reach vet 3 relatively easy.
though, its generic conscripts who truly suffer from misrepresentation, vet 3 gives them an amazing hp bonus, but only in vet3. most generic conscripts rarely reach vet 3 due to the lack of dps. spread their received accuracy and weapon accuracy over vet 1 and 2 to scale them effectively. |
reduce its dmg to 120 per shot, buff penetration to match UKF 6 pdr. AP rounds to provide a 50% buff to damage (180dmg) and remove the gardening visual effect on active ability on top of the gun and change it to a different firing sound effect instead.
keep the visual effect on the shell though, makes it look like a hadouken. |
light vehicle, being part of the meta needs a little looking at.
they are far too fragile for what they are worth and that really limits their capability/impact on the battlefield.
2 AT gun shots will generally take t70/m20 skirted or not/m5 halftrack/german halftracks/flak HT/222 out. there's where the problem is, AT guns are usually snipers and the 1st shot is granted if firing from the fog, this discovery shot is generally unavoidable, however, its where the 2nd shot is where counterplay is possible, move out asap or risk getting blown up. but with vehicle agility/acceleration and pathing, it is difficult to move out of the 2nd shot, making a heavily invested vehicle extremely worthless, compared to another infantry squad which is much more durable and less of a micro tax.
to allow better counter play and ease of light vehicle use, my suggestion is to give light vehicles a very tiny buff of +20 hp so they may survive the 2nd shot, making only the 3rd shot is lethal, or combined push of AT nades/handheld AT + AT guns extremely lethal. in return, allow 2nd shots to reliably destroy the main gun.

nice, good info elchino7
so there's a way to screw people by thinking that you missed ur strike entirely, but in fact it was on target? |
il-2 offmaps suck, except for the bomb run with is ok for killing okw trucks / pak43s
yeah they do, i think the strafe is okayish usually, kills off 1-2 models per squad in its path. pretty good to turn the tide of battle.
just that the smoke gives off too much of a warning, for its performance.
like hannibal said, the rest of the doctrine is pretty solid. ppsh and conscript vet buffs synergize well. the strafe, once given a slight buff, this commander will be epic. |
i think this ability needs abit of looking at, too much warning for too little effect. granted its only 90mp per use, its pretty effective for its price, but here's the problem, it drops a smoke warning, which i feel is redundant, comes late into the game, slow on the approach and usually little to no effect on tanks and inconsistent against infantry.
my suggestion is to keep its weak attacks and price, but remove the smoke warnings and make infantry flinch, no suppression, just force them to dive abit here and there for added distruption. |
glaring lack of indirect fire options, heavy mp bleed. surely you have played against ost who have set up a good position with mortars mg snipers and grenadiers.
good luck getting up a centaur before his panzer4 with that kind of heavy mp bleed. |
oops double post. |
i agree with turbotortoise.
in all my games of usf, i have never once felt that usf has enough oomph to their unit rooster, there are just so many loop holes for okw/ostheer to exploit. the lack of indirect fire tools, early suppression tools, garrison counter, awkward armor/AT and lack of non doctrinal heavy/rocket artillery.
their only strength is rifles which are well, okayish but suffers from all the weaknesses that infantry have, which is susceptibility to snipers and suppression, while every other department in the army suck donkey balls.
early game, a massed infantry tactic no longer work in this game. grenadiers and volks are significantly cheaper than rifles and pose a big threat to rifles, who do not have the models to take shots while closing in nor the dps to outgun and edge out other infantry squads at range. this leads to some rather awkward moments when rifles are completely outgunned by mg42s and grenadier combos, who can suppress and control rifles and still do large amounts of dps to the remaining squads.
then from then on it goes pretty much downhill from there. units in lieutenant or captain tier are more or less support for the rifles, desperately needed just to break up machine gun positions, while german factions are free to tech for tanks/armor/artillery to break up any form pathetic infantry based resistance that usf can come up with their very limited pool of manpower.
by the time usf can get up any form of medium tanks, okw/ost will already have p4, stugs or panthers to solidify their gains which usf armor has got no capability to deal with. jacksons being too fragile and require more resources to be dumped into AT support which are more problems by themselves.
tl;dr, usf is constantly on the backfoot from the getgo. there's really no reason to play the usf as of now, what they can do, soviets/brits can do it better. |
people tend to forget the amount of support these things have. they cost a bomb, but they arent going to be the 1st purchase damn it.
in 2s, the other player aint gonna not build anything, especially if he is okw, there's going to be swarms of schreckmen all over the place. that means no go for medium armour, no go for an assault. also, relying on infantry to give volks a good smacking isnt going to work all that nicely.
these fuckers are going to work around the support of their panzer HQ which has a magical gun that tada! suppresses and kills infantry, which in turn, actually needs armour to destroy that HQ.
now even if allied infantry do get into range, what can they do to jadg/elefant, desperately throw rocks and sticks at it? because thats what they are already doing with ptrs and bazookas.
to put salt to the wound, all allied mediums are also severely outmatched by axis equivalents, pz4 is more than enough to stop an allied medium swarm. who says ostheer cant get a pz4 while waiting out for a elefant?
now if you are going to sit back and relax, while you wait for artillery to flatten them, well, fuck you, because axis have non doctrinal rocket artillery. so if you are counting on a stalling match, they can still dish out whatever you can and can probably do better at it with stukas and panzerwerfer.
so now with superior arms and men, how are allies going to push against that? with cardboard tanks and peasants for infantry?
now not forgetting meta is about laser guided ISGs, where these things eat support teams alive and shines so damn well in stalemates and come so early into the game.
tell me how do you counter that with bad soviet mortars, US dont have non-doc light indirect fire options, brits? lolmortarpits that gets smashed by constant barrages? now put that into context when suggesting AT guns has a counter to elefants/jagdtigers. |
