Plus one less emplacement to balance. In the spirit of testing things and trying new things, I find this to be a preferable option to an emplacement version of withdraw & refit. In: COH2 Balance

It was often clear what you had to do: - howitzer --> v1 - who would ever go right hand side first with armor company in a teamgame? etc. Restrictive in the sense that you had a choice of how to invest your CPs. Availability vs choice. I maintain that if players were able to invest their CPs into their chosen commanders the system would've worked out much better. In: Lobby

Penals are anti - everything at this moment. Making them to sacrifice AI for AT power, is fair. Not like now, blobs of Penals with AT and regular sachels, what can go wrong. This change would be a nice change, and to make axis tanks more viable option to counter penal blobs. With 'Ura' it's you retreat or lose a tank situation. To conclude: lock AT sachels behind PTRS upgrade. Unless I've been missing it entirely, Penals lost Oorah! with the PTRS patch. Demo package upgrade for satchels & demos fits better. Spending munis to unlock a muni ability is kind of meh in my opinion. In: COH2 Balance

To me, that's the only applicable and reasonable excuse for Brace. In that light, it's something that any emplacement, regardless of faction, could/should have at its disposal because they cannot move. In: COH2 Gameplay

Yet 5 seconds is just too little of a 'brace'. 10 seconds would be reasonable in my mind. How about yours? My opinion is 3 second duration, 7.5-10 second recharge. (4.5-7 seconds inbetween Braces.) 7.5 second recharge would literally just be 10% of the live duration and recharge. I think short duration, short recharge is preferable to longer durations/recharges. Shorter timers increases the burden on the British faction player. But to be perfectly honest, I have no idea what will actually be best. Brace has been a contentious ability since it was released, and it's caused a litany of issues with how the game has been balanced. This is something that will have to be toyed around with. IMO a change to brace warrants its own mod. One change for the whole thing: Brace. Otherwise it'll be more or less impossible to determine what is best. And to go further, I think the whole British faction needs to be scrapped and redrawn from the beginning if they are to fit into CoH2 in a balanced and well-designed way. In: COH2 Gameplay

I tried using this, but it is really useless. How about 8 or 10 seconds? If not, then remove it and simply give emplacements more armor or something once they vet up. Alternately, things like stuka bomb, werfer barrages, and railway artillery could be actually buffed against emplacements. Since the short timer could nullify the more high-damage alpha-strikes. Missing the brace would be destructive, but getting it would nullify its effect. Things like ISGs and mortars, the current 'counters' would still be able to do their job, but their opponent would have to constantly micro/disable their emplacements to withstand continued barrages. Brace should be bracing for impact from an explosion, not a stasis field from enemy attacks for X amount of time. An emplacement overrun with enemy infantry should be as survivable as a flanked MG or ATG. In: COH2 Gameplay

I was going for a 3 second duration, 10 second recharge in my mod. All I could get was 3 second duration with the 75 second recharge. In: COH2 Gameplay

The Brace ability has so many weird nuances to it that all I could ever do is change the duration, but I also couldn't be sure if any of the effects of Brace actually being influenced. As in, the duration timer would work fine, but I couldn't tell if the actual effects of brace were still lasting 30 seconds or not. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Units balance cost and upgrades7 Jul 2017, 18:33 PM Interesting theory, though it'd only be strategically valuable if factions had ways up upgrading/mitigating the upkeep or popcap of these units, or else it's a limiting factor that players don't have much control over. I prefer pop cap and upkeep be linked with territory control. That I think worked much better as it was in coh1. I know a lot of people tend to dislike it, much like CoH1 wehrmacht vet, but I think they were crucial to gameplay. For coh2 it could work where pop cap may not even have to be limited by territory, just impact on upkeep. Also, in that vein, repairing should inflict some manpower upkeep. Not sure why that isn't the case in coh2. In: COH2 Gameplay
