Thread: About Grenade Inconsistencies6 Nov 2019, 22:46 PM I also have a question: I one read that cover directionality also effects AoE, but in the case of grenades the reference is not the grenade, but the infantry squad. So if your for example frontally assault an enemy squad in green cover and throw a grenade behind them, their cover buff of -10% damage still applies, although the cover logically should not have effected the damage output. Damage wise, this would make it irrelevant if you throw a grenade in front of the cover or behind it. Is this (still) true? In: COH2 Balance

Tank shells missing retreating squads is beneficial rather than reduced damage? It would actually be the other way round. It would make wipes by tanks, but also artillery etc less likely. To make it short: Tanks usually miss >95% of their shots. What matters is their scatter an AoE profile. In: COH2 Gameplay

Thread: MAPPATCH1 Nov 2019, 23:28 PM Thank you guys for the work! There's so much effort gone into the map update, and I'm sure there are great improvements! I have a question though: 2v2 has lost two maps and gained none. That's a bit of a shame, since the map pool in 2v2 is is further shrunk down because I personally find a couple of maps either dull by map design or favoring Allies or Axis, at least at my skill level. Have there been so many complaints about Ponary and Bialystok, or why were they removed? In: Lobby

The ZiS has the lowest rate of fire, that's why it is the worst at AT duty. It's not a bad AT gun either, but what it lacks in the AT department when compared to e.g. the PaK40, it needs to make up for in versatility, like most of the SOV units. In: COH2 Gameplay

What it needs to lose is its positional flexibility. How is the hard part. I agree with you. I think it could do with a speed/rotation debuff and get utility. Quickly popped smoke like the smoke canisters or (although I don't like the lack of delay on the ability) Panzer Tactician to make up for less survivability, but only if microed well. Firefly is a bit iffy with it being gimmicky but i think its pretty solid. The Jackson is quite strong at its current position but only because its the only thing keeping USF alive late game. I think nerfing that if u want to nerf the Jackson . USF AT gun needs to be buffed as it requires a muni dumb to reliably pen anything stronger than Ostwind and the USF sherman just isnt worth getting compared to a jackson or scott . Maybe nerf the jackson pen/remove HVAP/ decrease speed and buff USF sherman AT rounds and or buff M1 At gun? This, exactly this. The Jackson is a unit that performs better than its cost, but mostly because it has to. The USF AT gun is great against LV, but even against OST P4 it starts to become unreliable, especially because the snare often takes a while to cast. You can invest munitions to make it good against it, but that will bleed you quite heavily on your mun. Bazookas are good, but mostly when enmassed. They also suffer a bit from unreliable penetration against mediums (72% long range against OST P4). USF will probably become unviable if Jackson gets a significant AT nerf without buffing something else. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Zis Barrage31 Oct 2019, 21:18 PM I just saw that on CoH2DB, the maximum AoE distance is 6, while far AoE distance point is 5. So everyone KEEP IN MIND that the graph carries a systemic error. I think the vet damage buff should be just a modifier as you suggested., which gives the barrage 93,36 base damage. Prepatch ZiS / Postpatch ZiS / SU76 / Su76vet kill radius for x damage: 1,500 / 0,000 / 0,000 / 0,687 area under plot: 204,87 / 205,02 / 205,02 / 239,26 functional area under plot: 204,87 / 203,28 / 203,28 / 232,59 Correction values for areas: Should be +10 for Prepatch ZiS and SU76 and +12 for Su76vet. Don't know much about the Prepatch ZiS. If the maximum AoE was 6 as well, then add ~17. So the vet on Su76 gives it a kill radius of almost 0,7 m which is pretty decent and a AI damage boost of about 14,5%. In: COH2 Gameplay
