The question is what you are talking about? because a Tiger vs 3 SU-76 is going to have a hard time both in slug-fest and and even worse player vs player.
by hard time you mean, almost bouncing every second shell? have you actually compared the DPS, cost and popcap if you are fighting a tiger with each setup? Does it really look remotely viable to make 3 SU76s instead if 1 Su85 and save up for buy a t34 to have a better setup?
Since the split of Battlegroup HQ with intention to make healing more affordable, it brought faction much requested teching flexibility, but...brought a lot of confusion as well
Patch notes:
Here is an example of convolution:

As we can see that KT requirements are the correct one. You need Mechanized Battlegroup HQ for it, not just converted one. But what do we see for Panzerfaust? Just any converted HQ. So apart from KT and HMG34, other requirements are wrong, because you won't get access to faust or STG package by just converting mentioned HQ, you need additional upgrade for it.
I understand for players who played enough OKW this is not an issue, but unfortunately it is for new players, or players who are just starting to learn OKW.
Also Mechanized Battlegroup HQ name kind of collides with actual Mechanized Regiment HQ.
Solution:
Give different names for every stage of the Battlegroup. E.g. name initial HQ as Forward HQ and then convert it to Battlegroup HQ to access abilities and light armor. Also since some units were visually redesigned after resent patch, would be nice if those HQ looked differently giving players clues for HQ's stage.
Look i fully agree its unrealistic what i preposed. Also the slightest at support for the tiger can swing it in the tigers favor as well. Its all great combined arms mechanics.
I wanted to show the su76 is not cost effective for the late game.
You were actually right, 1 SU is still ok vs 1 Tiger. You just cover SU with infantry, shot 2 times and snare it. After it Tiger is just dead, or is going to a 1 year repair vacation.
But mostly it is more like 2 AT guns, 1 SU and 1 t34 vs heavy armor composition.
And if we are talking about su76, I don't think even 3 SU76 will be as useful as single SU85 vs 1 tiger.
2x Su76 is not better then 1x su85, not by a long shot. Here are why
Calculations:
So TTK of P4J/vet2 P4H for SU76 is 56s/36s vs 28s/21.6s of Su85.
BUT also 2 x Su76 are more expensive + they die much more easily. SU76 gets fausted even with 100% health, has worse scaling, setup requires 2x micro, inefficient vs anything past P4 like Sturmpanzer, Panther, Tiger, KT etc.
I bet this is very obvious for anyone who played SOV long enough and could have come to exact same conclusion without any of those numbers, but this may not be the case for someone who spams single side/faction.
Paths are made out of glass. Once something stinky hits the fan, they die very fast, especially late game when enemy infantry is vetted and upgraded. Although they perform quite well with zooks.
Just scale a pen with vet a bit, or/and acceleration buff to 2.5 for example.
But I haven't tried the vehicle after moving accuracy buff. SU76 already has quite high base accuracy. This actually looks interesting. Although I'm not sure if I ever build one, because I play mostly con builds and getting an SU76 delays 7men upgrade (otherwise you have to play for the tech) + it delays your t34.
The USSR needs another SU-76. Maybe give the M10 (which had the same designation SU-76, which complicates the study of the combat use of these self-propelled guns) in several commanders.
SOV already have a cheap vehicle to throw, that is several times more useful then m10 both at throwing away and in combat.
The idea that drop in use between 1vs1 and 2vs2 use has to do with osttruppen only is not very sound. The main difference here is user add thing like Lefh and Elephant commanders to their load out.
How would you even know if you haven't played a single match with them in 1v1? You are basically theorycrafting without relevant practical experiment.
