Lmao, JLIs are much better then Paths. Paths are pure utility because of the bad scaling and mediocre base received accuracy, while JLI is a pretty good combat unit. Imo Jager Lights are amongst the best infantry units in the game. |
The kt is no doubt better but you can only have one kt since its a heavy-effective vs everything tank but the comet doesn't have a unit cap which is at odds with all the other generalist heavys and at odds with units that have shit loads of utility like jager command squads and officer units, imagine playing vs wehr with 4 jaeger command squads.
It would be annoying since they could operate alone without a spotting unit & negate their natural counter (mgs) and offer so much utility & bang for buck the wehr player wouldn't build anything else, the same is happening with the comet.
Also I dont know if the comet stats take into account the +10 accuracy buff from the commander upgrade in the infantry dps table as well as its high moving accuracy unless that was nerfed.
The claim that Comet has KT level of AOE (watch the graph above). I was not arguing about comet being weak/strong. Honestly I got pissed of blatant overestimation by Ullu.
Accuracy does not influence infantry hit chance all that much.
Example:
Comet has 0.045 accuracy at range of 20. Generic infantry has target size of 1. 0.045*1=0.045 or 4.5%. With accuracy bonus (4.5*1.1*1)*100%= 4.95%. So we have 4.5% vs 4.95%. Obviously that's not a whole lot. Also, AFAIK, accuracy bonus does not influence MG accuracy, which is a source of consistent DPS. In other words it only applies to the main gun. |

During pre-OKW/US-COH2, you could just build a swarm of t34s (with good flanking and mine sweeping) and kill anything.

As I see it, this change would make a lot of units less viable e.g. panther, any TD, Puma, AEC, most heavy tanks etc. Players are still complaining that several units are useless, like m10 and SU76, imagine if that amount of units triples after adding this feature. |
Talking about the graph, this is actually rather a feature than a bug, albeit a bit of a confusing one, i have to admit.
Ok, that explains a lot. It's just a posted a comment in your thread about it and didn't get an answer, so I went with the notion that it is a bug. If I knew how to precisely calculate MG dps, I could've helped you with updating the DATA tab, since everything else is pretty straight forward.

Imo deflection won't work in coh2, just because it requires a major overhaul of the balance. As was said before, you could just build a swarm of t34s and kill anything. This also makes armor and penetration stats less valuable. Current system works good. There are few units like ISU, Ele and JT that could use an armor nerf with tweaks to m1 57mm ability, but otherwise the tanks/TD/AT dynamic works good imo. |

KV-1 hulldown is very impactful in 1v1. Imagine a t34 with much higher ROF having HP and armor(sort of) similar to KT, albeit being immobile. You just dig in a clutch position and completely ruin the guy. AFAIK no OST unit has similar capabilities, maybe Sturmpazer IV is able to rival it. |
Lady Xenarra already said it (and tested it). If you don't believe I really recommend using the grid in cheat mode.
I drag-clicked directly on the "0" line. Everything adds up. "Sticking out" vehicle length may be 2 or 3 here, but definitely not 5.

I don't know if this is calculated from the centre of the vehicle. With grid activated in cheat mode you can see it is only 45 sight range from the front of the M8 and 55 with vet1. This makes scouting pretty dangerous if there are AT-Guns or JPIVs with their own scouting support around.
Vet 1 m8 has 60 sight, not 55. at vet 1 it gets +20% sight range. 50*1.2 = 60.
The vet 3 +30% is weird, as I've never seen it get that bonus. Could be a typo, could be bug (like sight ranges bonuses not staking). |
