And todays episode is Redxwings vs Bulgakov. Brits vs OKW in another unorthodox display from Redxwings, artillery doctrine in use with valentines, sextons, churchills and many other things.

Hard game for both sides, lots of infantry battles with flanks and active MG micro. The only time I played vs this British commander. It's better than I thought. In: Replays |

Would you say the majority like it? Looking back to Vanilla and US/OKW release, even with all the imbalances of both sides every game was mobile, you couldn't lock large areas of the map down (except Schwerer, which can be argued was also a design flaw but not as bad as bofors/mortar pit) People seemed pretty happy with the dynamic playstyle. Nobody was saying "There's too much movement and strategy!" now a lot of people are complaining about the loss of the dynamic gameplay. I'll leave you to make of that what you will. The Schwerer was a hindrance to flanking and movement I take your point there. But it was also given to a faction with no non-doctrinal MG. In any case you could build only one and not brace it or surround it with counters to its counters. So yes, it shouldn't be in the game but no, it didn't put flanking and movement out of the question. I'm surprised anyone likes sitting still and slowly pushing forward. It's so dull for me. In real life defending never won a war. Only in CoH2 with Brits. In: COH2 Balance |

Static play is boring. It's just angry birds with tanks. What made the franchise so exciting was vanilla coh1 and vanilla coh2, which were all about clever flanking and movement. Not indirect fire vs indirect fire. Do you enjoy static play? In: COH2 Balance |

So did US and later UKF. Bofors reduces the game to static play. Surely even you can't defend that? In: COH2 Balance |

My arguments: The bofors is far too strong and is spoiling gameplay. You cannot "flank" a bofors in the traditional sense of getting to its blindspot as it has 360 degree facing. There is no cost-effective alternative. Lastly, You need to play against it to understand. Throwing out opinions from an ivory tower is pointless. Try a few games and then come talk about flanking a bofors. In: COH2 Balance |

Not if the stone has fundamentally changed several times while he's been resting. The game is different to what you knew. Bofors are a problem, you'll see some high-ranking players agreeing with me (and a couple disagreeing). In any case, just dismissing my argument without actually testing it is hubris. You're clearly too invested in your own opinion to learn to what extent I am right/wrong. In: COH2 Balance |

If you haven't been playing against this, then you lack understanding. It's not like flanking an MG that has to unpack and set up. It spins around rapidly. Essentially its blindside exists for such a short period (the time it takes to destroy the first attacking unit) that it can't be considered a blindside in the usual sense (as in with MGs) And even if you do get its health down low, they can hit brace. You also have to factor in their other units supporting the bofors. I don't understand why you can refute my claim so glibly with "smoke and flank" when you haven't been going up against this unit repeatedly and when so many other players are saying the same thing as me. Try it. Try a few games vs Brits with the emplacement commander. I'll be delighted to see a replay of you "flanking a bofors". In: COH2 Balance |

Show me 3 replays of you flanking a bofors. Vs an opponent of similar level. I don't think you can. I don't think you can put your money where your mouth is. I checked your playercard, it looks like you haven't played OKW in a long while. Is that right? Feasibly you'd be able to attack from 3 places in a 180 arc (otherwise you're going to be behind it and retreating through it. Not an option) A bofors will melt an infantry squad in 5-10 seconds. Let's say you have 3 Volks with shreks and a raketen. If you factor for misses, you're going to have to stand there for a minute, retreating a squad at a time as they get killed. This is all including the fact that he will also have other units nearby. Ultimately when you get it down to low health, it will brace. You retreat, he fixes. I never said it was impossible but it is generally highly inefficient to attack a bofors with infantry. In: COH2 Balance |
