I disagree, highly skilled players at poker mitigate luck. But even at the highest level luck can still cause the more skilled player to lose - whereas in a game like SCII there is no luck at the highest level.
I understand that you were not saying CoH2 is like poker. That was the point that I was making, as they both involve significantly more luck than any of the strategy games you listed. |
I think that comparing poker to the games you list above is a poor comparison. With high enough skill in those game the elements of luck are pretty much completely eliminated. In Poker the element of luck is still highly prominent even at the highest level. How many times have you seen a hand decided on the river? A lot. I can take the exact example that you use above and turn it around to make an argument that CoH2 is more similar to Poker than any of those game and thus is just as competition worthy, according to your standards. |
Regarding the OP however. I like to get t3 just for the strong mid-game presence. I'll grab a pair of stugs if they went for early t34 or it seems like they're waiting on 85 spam. Otherwise I go for p4 and ostwind if there is a lot of shocks on the field (but NEVER before a p4 or stug). Then I'll usually get a pak43, elefant, or tiger, usually going for two tigers in the late game.
I've found that in 2v2s you pretty much have to go one person with elefant or pak43 and one with tigers, at least that's been the easiest way to the W. |
Uncounterable? What about AT guns + MGs? what about strafe run? What about t34-85? What about IS-2(not a hard counter to panther BUT lemme tell ya it does work vs pgrens)? what about snipers? what about mines? what about mines? what about mines? what about mines? |
Thanks for the response and the edit OP. My reply was mainly in response to the negativity based in your OP. However, I still think this thread should be closed as the staffing decisions made at relic or any developer I believe to be outside the realm of community criticism. At least until they prove themselves to be worthy of such criticism. And indeed this is my opinion. |
A community coordinator is someone who relays information from the developer to the community be it news/updates/etc... They also read the forums and communicate to the dev team/publisher what the community is saying/wanting. It's not that complicated. I'm guessing that this is a SEGA "recommended" hire as the guys over at CA have the same type of group. Those guys are good at their job (albiet the game itself was a letdown). Clearly Noun and the other guys should be spending more time doing game development related work as instead of feedin forum trolls. You don't have to be a gamer to fill a marketing/customer relation type job role, though it is helpful. I know plenty of people who work in these types of positions that do a great job (not necessarily users of the product/service). Calling these people the wrong people is short-sighted and honestly makes one look like a fool as you have absolutely no evidence to back up your argument. This thread should be locked IMO. |
Instead of 60 muni for stgs' why not give them the ability to use fausts once t4 is unlocked. |
On par with a Panther? It costs 25 less fuel and 190 less manpower. Please elaborate on why it should be on par with a Panther? |

It's going to coincide with the announcement of the expansion "Desert Fox" |
I'm pretty sure that anything will penetrate the rear armor 100% of the time. Just sayin, that's a pretty glaring weakness.
Plus, soviet mines should be everywhere. |
