This is not a period of Russian history to be proud of, whilst disregarding these facts.
All the more so considering Russia's current suppression and oppression of indigenous populations(as evidenced in Chechnya and Georgia) homosexuals (as evidenced in recent anti-homosexual legislation and violence),political dissidents (such as the band Pussy Riot), and its satellite neighbours (such as continued aggressive politics vs the Ukraine).
Inb4 the US i(or X nation) is worse. Quite plausible on many levels, and justified. But not relevant to Soviet/Russian attrocity.
The treaty was signed before the war started. Soviet people never expected an attack from the Fascists and never wanted to join the war.

Well in fact it is the topic "Russian History" and you mentioned soviets and jews being the victims of nazi propaganda and murder.
Most of the history books and documentaries are still influenced by propaganda (especially the russian ones, because of 45 years of soviet influence). I understand why you are confused.
Since this thread is based on hurt feelings, try to imagine how german people feel, when they are portrait as Nazi murderers in media all the time. It works as entertainment, because Nazis are the perfect villains (propaganda made them like this) and you dont need to tell the public about it.
However you hear any german whining about it? Try to grow a dixk and move on.

But this isn't the same game. It is a new game attempting to bring something new to the table. I understand the comparison, but I find it to be unfair. Personally I think there should have been an equally grim german campaign in coh 2 from day one. Sadly that wasn't the case, but using that as a carte blanche to make said comparison and take such extreme offense as people have is honestly ignorant and unfair.
Funny fact is that from the start I already stated I don`t care how the Soviets are portrayed in the game, because I realize this is just a game |
