Sector Artillery requires the target to be sighted in the territory for a long time before it ramps up and starts deleting stuff. HTL deletes squads within a few seconds of being sighted on friendly frontline territory. You have clearly missed this fact from the video. Even the last bit of the video the targeted squads ONLY became targeted after sighted on that strategic point.
I mostly play allies, so I dont really have much experience dealing with HTL, but with your video, it looks pretty disgusting. That being said, I don't think Either HTL or Secter arti should exist, but HTL shouldnt exist the mostest. Both are lazy area denial tools that basically are "haha I clicked a button and you dont get to play the game and capture VPs for a minute!" which just gets abused, especially in larger modes where you see these mass desperate pushes for the VPS and people dying for the points to squeeze out the last remaining VPs. Both are far too spammable, and are often the deciding factor in games when they have absolutely no right to be.
Hell, I'd honestly also lump Sector Assault with those two since its gigantic and takes forever to shoot down with even mass AA |
Sounds like vehicles being repaired have now become a prime target. Funny shit.
or softening up a heavy chilling on a point, or getting some cheesy damage on the mortar halftracks your opponent got to counter your 120mm mortars |
I've been messing around with the new 120 vet 1 barrage ability, and while its hilarious using it, I've also noticed that it sticks to vehicles that are unlucky enough to be hit by it like an AT satchel. Is this intended? because I don't think its mentioned in the patch notes, at least to the best of my knowledge. Though I could just be illiterate. |
The firefly is fine. You’re comparing the panther which is 185F to the 145F firefly. Of course it’s going to lose in a 1v1. Put it behind sappers and mines and supporting armor/at guns. Panthers can’t dive if you prep for the dive.
Firefly can get a survivability buff when it loses the ability to 11second combo any 640hp medium. The fact that it can bounce P4 rounds with the same chance as a Sherman medium is dumb enough.
Shhhh, they don't know about that, keep pretending the Firefly is bad so it gets even more buffs |
Man, one cannot be wronger than u.
I used both axis and soviet mgs extensively and the axis mg is vastly superior in getting kills, its not even a comparison.
Trying to make maxim sound good makes u honestly look like a fool
My dude, coming from someone who mostly plays Allies, calm the hell down lol. I never claimed the maxim was the best MG. The 42 is supposed to be the best MG in the game, the OST have weaker core infantry than other factions and stronger team weapons to compensate. My point is not that the maxim is the best, clearly it isn't, simply that it does its job as a mg perfectly fine: it suppresses large assaults adequately if you micro properly. As it stands rn, its better than the 50 cal and Vickers in doing its intended job, and surviving to tell the tale. If you want an allied Machine gun that is better than the 42, just follow other people's advice and get a Dshka, otherwise, steal a 42 whenever you get the chance like the rest of us, and laugh as they struggle to decrew a 6 man 42 squad. |
It has literally been progressively buffed in almost every recent major patch. It has comically high group suppression to the point that 2 squads on opposite sides of its arc can be suppressed when you focus on one for long enough, and the sustained fire ability compensates for the lackluster vet 0 capabilities, and turns it into an absolute beast when the maxim gains veterancy. Its on you for not fully utilizing its strengths, and accounting for its weaknesses. If you want to look at a machine gun thats kinda sad rn, look at the 50 cal, which has the same deathloop problems, but with a smaller squad. Otherwise, all machine guns are in a pretty good spot when accounting for the various strengths and weaknesses the various factions have. |
Doesnt he mean sustained fire? It significantly increases burst duration, doesn't it? That increases suppression through an overall greater rate of fire.
it ups suppression, and the Maxim will keep firing for the entire duration of the ability with no pauses if Im not mistaken |
The barrage in a vacuum is perfectly fine, albeit maybe a shorter delay would be nice. Its just that its in a doctrine who's whole point is getting an exceedingly mediocre Heavy tank that cant kill infantry very well post Heavy meta, and struggles against panthers, and loses against anything heavier. Urban Assault is just Heavy Cav but better at this point. |
My thoughts are primarily from 3v3/4v4 AT experience. If something is not mentioned, then I think it's acceptable.
It WILL 1 shot 4 man grens at 70 range if they're in yellow green clumped, and you don't even need to switch to HE rounds. That needs to go. (Thanks SweetRollNextDoor for posting about it too. I went in and tested against green after you said it could do that and yes, it does it consistantly.)
Et tu Brute?
Nah, it is kinda dumb, albiet hysterical that it erases infantry in green cover like its nothing. Imo, it should be an activated ability that functions like the Jagdtiger's or 17 pounders ability. with its anti infantry potential nerfed so it cant just thanos snap vet 5 obers having the audacity to use green cover. Just reducing its anti infantry ability just turns it into the worst of both worlds, bad vs infantry and bad vs tanks. |
I personally think the current premise is dumb that its a choice between sacrificing a squad and getting a machine gun or something sometimes. It works well enough when you get used to it, but without prior knowledge its very unintuitive. If it were able to be coded in, and that's a big if for this game at this stage, I'd like the minimal models needed to recrew a team weapon to be given to the team weapon. so 2 for Mortars and AT guns, 1-2 for mgs. or if it was possible to just give as many models as possible before losing the squad or something. Right now its just silly. a 50 cal can technically be recrewed with one person, but why would anyone in their right mind do that unless they were extremely desperate. |
