15 minute JT would be super effective too. You could use it to clear obstacles with heavy crush giving you the ultimate edge in infantry engagements.

When playing as Ostheer in the North it overly favours the allies as your MGs can’t vault over the fences.
Right now, if you want to move your MG from the fuel to the VPs you have to either walk half way back to your base, or walk through the middle of the map down a red cover road.

The mortar isn’t really worth it, the extra rifleman gives more field presence and is 1 more unit to flank that MG
The 50 cal sucks, dies before suppressing
The 57mm sucks, can’t pen panthers
The Sherman can’t pen panthers frontally, is not good vs the P4, and flanking is difficult
The Scott is good in team games, but since the 57mm at gun cant pen panthers, you are screwed if they get 1
So it devolves to:
Step 1: buy 3 riflemen
Get Lieutenant/Captain
Get light vehicle
Get Jacksons
Ofc you can use the other units, but why would you?

Has anyone realized that the reason t2 gets skipped now is that the options in it are shit?

222s get shredded by allied LVs, so you need to get a PaK to counter them. But having to bring the PaK to protect your 222s negates the advantage that light vehicles have, mobility
222s aren’t even that good at killing infantry.
By skipping t2, you effectively gain 200 manpower and 20 fuel by not having to get the building, don’t have to waste 60 fuel for double 222s to protect your grens from CQB infantry (PGrens do it better), and you aren’t encumbered by a PaK, you can get shreked PGrens instead and remain mobile |

the reason the ostwind wasn't popular wasn't because it was ineffective, it was solely because the panzer was extremely effective against infantry but also a very good medium tank.. the balance team of the past understood this and that is why it wasn't "fixed", but unfortunately this "balance" team completely confused unfavoured with underpowered, ridiculous
so now you have a panzer that still retains it AI and the buffed ostwind that can now support the AT capabilities of the panzer
if the ostwind is going to be a so exceptional at AI plus have the benefit of doing significant damage against tanks then fine but that has to mean the panzer will need to have a significant AI nerf
in reality the ACTUAL balance fix here would of been to nerf the AI of the panzer and slightly buff the ozwinds moving accuracy therefore giving an actual roll to the ostwind.. in truth the ostwind was always effective if people bothered to actually learn how to use it but why bother with it when you can get one of the best medium tanks instead which was still effective against infantry

The Panzer 4’s main gun is worse vs infantry compared to al allied mediums because it only damages some of the enemy squad models (Damage all in hold: False, coh2.db), but the Pintle MG makes up for this.
On the topic of the Ostwind, imagine this. FOR ONLY 20 MORE FUEL, USF GET THE SERMAN, WHICH CAN 1V1 PANZER 4s AND HAS THE SAME AI CAPABILITY AS THE OSTWIND. WOW |
I think the counter barrage should have more range and DPS than auto attacks, but have less DPS than barrages. That way it can deal with unmicroed mortars but won’t win if the enemy micros their mortar |
Well USF has the worst early game of all factions. You start off with no effective combat units what so ever. Both Axis factions have now have their mere engineer units that can 1v1 your only fighting unit Riflemen. Its hilariously broken.

Let’s just ignore tech skipping please? It is, in my opinion, a stupid mechanic that should be removed, as it means that later units (brumbier, panther) need to be balanced with skipping in mind
Either Panthers and Brumbiers are good compared to allied late game tanks, and you “have to” rush brumm and panther because they are op when rushed, or Panther and Brumbier suck so you don’t tech skip and when you get to late game allied tanks crush you |
