Because it ignores the asymmetry, and relative faction power. It just picks two vehicles in the same 'class' calls them equal, and then calls unequal costs imbalanced. If I wanted to engage in the same type of argument I could just as easily cry for massive nerfs to KV-1, t34/85, and all the premium shermans since panther is so much more expensive. I don't spam threads with this though because I don't want to actually rot peoples brains. I just want to stop reading the same awful arguments over and over. In: COH2 Balance

Any deviation from that straight path is because you found something more valuable than having the t-34 at the earliest time. In the building there is the T34/76. It is available before Ostheer can bring out its PZIV (if you don't build a T70). All the other tanks and Katiusha come after the tech upgrade. That way it would really make sense to push for a fast T34/76 (as an alternative to a T3 T70) that would have a time window to get some kills before the first PZIV arrives. If T34/76 would be a little bit more attractive in its timing this alone would delay all other soviet tanks. If that is not enough you would have the option to increase T4 tech upgrade by 10-15 fuel. You can already get a t-34 before a p4. Most players choose a t-70 beforehand which is an optional investment and for obvious reasons delays the t-34. I'm really tired of this myth that the p4 comes out earlier than the t-34 as it'd only be true if the t-34 is locked behind t-70, which it's not. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Higher armour for Panthers13 Apr 2021, 05:11 AM High armor low hp is a nerf anyways since the only thing that really matters in vehicle combat is whether or not the last hit goes in. Since damage reduction from armor is binary it follows binomial distribution and so there will be scenarios where all shots penetrate and destroy the tank, whereas if it had higher HP instead it would be guaranteed to get away with a sliver of health. WRT to reducing the repair time to damage ratio: reducing HP, and increasing damage reduction is how you would do it. It's why the KV-1 does so well. It doesn't trade amazingly well in a single fight, but it needs far less repair time over the course of 3-4 fights. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: 4v4 win rates disparity7 Apr 2021, 04:14 AM The largest issue WRT to game mode balance remains economy scaling IMO. Large game mode maps tend to have more resource points, and caches also become no-brainers since they affect all team-mates, despite costing the same. This results in a much higher fuel and muni income that tends to benefit axis more since their high quality, yet expensive, tools are no longer so expensive. The economy issue ought to be the first thing fixed, since units cannot be priced and preform the same in all game modes, while the game modes themselves operate under a different economy. Another idea I've had WRT balancing larger game modes is to do so through the commander system, but I feel like this would be much harder to do than just fix the economies. Basically lean into the fact that some doctrines such as jaeger armor really only fit into team games, and use this to balance things separately from 1v1. In: COH2 Balance
