Ideally some way to increase small arms fire thst does not negate, but rather promotes cover, is best.
that would be much easier! you have accuracy-penalties for cover, modify them and you are fine! |
I just noticed, that the small pictures for these two criticals are the same, so you have to hoover over them to see the difference. Changing one of them would make it much easier to see the condition of your tank (to be honest, vcohs system was much better in that case) |
As far as I know it tracks literal damage values. I don't think it's rounding. And yes, every weapon does criticals - or more appropriately, every unit requires some kind of death critical by a weapon critical. Soldiers have a death critical caused by small_arms in their low health bracket.
the gamefiles show, that soldiers die with different intensities, which is caused by different weapons. so i think, the guide is basically still true |

The buff is a modifier of 1.02 so 25.5%. Over a single engagement it doesn't matter much. Over time, it probably accumulates a bit. But this is a recruit level bonus, so it's available basically right off the bat.
The conscript weapon does it's maximum accuracy at 10m distance from the target basically (near). If a weapon has no value in near, it'll use the min value as the near range.
Range basically interpolates over distance;
In the case of the conscript rifle, it goes from .25 accuracy at 35m, increases linearly until .5 accuracy at 10m, and then maintains .50 accuracy until the min range of 0.
Hope this helps.

In beta the Stuka bomb would white capped points, I haven't tested it out since retail though but thats quite a useful ability.
it still does! tried it yesterday must be the most bitter thing for the enemy, capping a point with vet3 guards, finally raising the flag and suddenly BOOM squad away and oint whitened
The issue boils down to this: with this new commander you do not get spotting scopes anymore. Those are, of course, absolutely essential to fully exploiting the Elefants incredible range. However(!), the Elefant also has focused sight, which might compensate for not having scopes. I'm not sure if focused sight gives the same far away vision you get from the scope.
focused sight increases you range slightly, however, combined with scopes it really shines, because the effectsadd to each other, which menas exponential incerasign sightrange. it can see over half of the map with this combo, maybe 120 meters. i ts INCREDIBLE!
And spotting scope only costs 30 munis, but scoutplane costs 80 and doenst give you constant view on points, so i would consider it useless.

my favourite moment was in a 2v2 on prypjat winter. we had allmost no vps anymore, but were finally able to get an elephant with scope into the middle. from now on, thsi thing sniped like 5 or 6 tanks at 100meters range |
- What do you consider to be competitive gaming?
people playing against each other not just for fun, but for ladders or prices, success, etc.
- What games have you considered to have played competitively? How involved did you get? How was your performance in these games?
company of heroes, only intermediate to pro level, but very involved, maybe dayz, pro level with a clan
- For games you don't play do you watch any vods or streams? If so which games?
not really
- Have you ever been to an offline or in person competitive event?
yes
- What do you believe makes a game competitive?
many players and of course the three B's: balance, balance, balance
- Have you produced any content or organised any competitive events for any games? If not are you interested?
iam producing a guide for coh2.org atm, never organized an event.
- Who do you believe is instrumental in building a strong competitive community?
you need many players to play the game, especially coh, because many players will not be able or willing to lose game after game until learning the basics. it can be quite rough
|
i think, that a annihilation option and basic matches would make the community much stronger. back in vcoh days, most noobs would either play compstomp or scheldt annihilation. now they are playing campaign, and if they try multiplayer, they are probably TOTALLY STOMPED by one of the good, old vcoh players, so they dont like it and go back to campaign. so ladders are not the point. not for casual gamers. i mean, i was proud becoming level x as americans or brits, because it showed, that i had evolved. but many people will stop after one lost game, because they dont like to lose!
coh 1 had a steep learning curve, coh 2 has it aswell, which means, you have to have noobfriendly multiplayermatches, which is basic match annihilation. |
i didnt experience any major or even minor balance issues in the last days, beacuse the games was unplayable for me. every time i wanted to start a 3v3 with my friends, they suddenly dropped out of the lobby |
its impossible to start a 4v4 at aswell, as soon as the 4 guys are actually in the Lobby, which takes quite long, because of connection issues, you start the searching and bam, someone drops while searching and you can try it again! |
