AA stands for anti-air, not anti-all which current Ostwind is TL;DR Ostwind is JLI of this patch, hence same wehraboo brigades pathetically defending it, exact same way they did it JLI despite them being laughably OP everyone told you centaur does as good as ostw vs comparable medium armour. To be resilient to other feedback is to hurt your own arguments. If ostw are not OP vs tanks, then why is this all about Ostw VS T34? IMO the Ostwind is a bit too good...to chase LVs, especially T70s, while the Centaur is way too slow to chase down a Luchs or Puma. That is a very valid point, potentially unwanted. IMO nerf Ostw move speed. In midgame will serve its prupose and later it will stay behind, a slower Ostw will only stop it from chasing. In: COH2 Balance

A realistic scenario where you made up Ostwinds ambushing the 'worst' ingame medium (someone calls T34 a premium light) withouth support and ostwinds can kill on the move. As it is now, obers not only are sort of a meme, but their oportunity window is literally negative, because their timing is paired with AI mediums, heavy AoE damage and TD fights. It is far worse for a stock unit to not have a chance to be present ingame than being choosed not to be used. Obers have the exact same issue than Doctrinal M10, but at least M10 IS doctrinal To put Obers into a secondary mainline AI infantry like penals sounds fair, since no faction can handle to mass volks, sturms and obers. In Urban Assault you can forego Riflemen completely and spam REs with rifle grenades, get your officers to fill in the gaps and then get Rangers. You wouldn’t have the Rangers in Rifle Company, so this strategy would be less effective. HOWEVER! I think what you said about reworking the ability is valid. I think the easiest way to rework the ability it to make it identical to Grenadier rifle grenades. REs gain the ability to shoot rifle grenades just like Grenadiers. No upgrade, just a passive new ability. It would be a substantial nerf in raw power, considering how much worse REs are compared to Grenadiers, but you’d also get the element of surprise when a RE squad suddenly pops off a rifle grenade in what you thought was going to be an easy fight. The clone concept is good enough IMO. But if RE rifle nades can become an original feature, then thats 2 birds with 1 stone. IMO rifle nades could be moved to rifle company and pair it with flares. But also rework rifle nades as Lago suggested. For some reason moving nades to riflemen makes it less spammable and gives them an extra degree of freedom of utiliy. BAR+Rifle nade sounds very interesting for a midgame situation and on top of that smokes to effectively dislodge axis HMGs. The only downside i find of making flares more reliable and consistent (not being dogdge able) is the consequent adjust/nerf to compensate. Wether it be a prohibitive cost or a lower damage output. I want to see them ingame, not as a meme but as a viable option. A longer cd sounds feasable, since with a good kiting you could fire a nade and retreat to a safer spot. Repeat this again and the enemy will abandon or loose its units. In: COH2 Balance

This is now 6 pages for an upgrade that barely does anything unless something is garrisoned. This is now 6 pages discussing an upgrade because someone is annoyed to micro their units. This is a non-issue. It DOES solve the thing, because RIFLE NADES were implemented to FIGHT OFF GRRISONS (green cover is a colateral feature). If it can reliably damage infantry in garrison/cover you are forced to leave it and voila! your investment was worth. Damage =/= utility Understand that first and then post your opinions on how to solve the problem rather than making it harder for those who want it fine. In: COH2 Balance

Or in s similar line of thought, make volks the starting unit and straight up buff sturms. I feel like it would be okay for them to have some serious firepower if you didn't get a free one +1 Sturm can not be a starting unit and OKW wont fall apart in any way. I dont want 2 shrek pios, they are not Pzgrens to begin with. It would make sense if Spios could store the AT like they do with the sweeper. Somehow i would love to see this starting unit swap with a volks stg/mp40 upgrade swap and remove/sidetech nades. This changes OKW to 3 openings: Standart rifle inf: unupgunned volks with nade sidetech (less investment for a quick tech) Urban combat: upgunned Mp40 volks + spios with lavanades sidetech (the most expensive of the 3) AI/AT balanced: volks+spios with AT+raketen (medium investment for a reliable early force) In: COH2 Balance
