If I'm reading this correctly, they're dropping from 50 -> 45 for okw, for a significantly worse performance?
Already it only kills 1-2 models.
Better not use this ability anymore.
Not really worse. Instead of killing 2 models and doing nothing to the other 2-4, the damage is now spread out and will put the entire squad on low health. It'll probably kill the 1-2 models that trigger the trap. The low health squad will be easy to push off afterwards. |
Wouldn't it make sense to also make the recon support pathfinders available at 0cp?
But for real, 0cp makes sense.
Actually, it does not make sense. The normal Pathfinders can be at 0CP because they have 2x snipers. Strong at long range, but they can be countered 1v1 by Grens charging into low-mid range because as soon as they drop two models they are left with the 2x snipers with no DPS at close range.
The IR Pathfinders however have 3x airborne carbine and 1x sniper and they destroy a charging Gren squad. This would put way too much pressure on Ostheer's early game because they can also scout the MG42. The IR PF could not be at 0cp unless their stock weapons profile is completely reworked.

Edit. i tested again with 2 vet three 42 gren against 3 vetted five men tommy the result this time doesn't seem quite as strong as 5 men gren perhaps it's the snipe capability from G43 itself made combination with this ability so strong even against infantry behide green cover
The Grenadier G43 is the regular rifle, not the sniper variant. It does not crit models. It's basically a Kar98 with lower DPS far but better DPS mid and low and high accuracy on the move. The upgrade does give -10% received accuracy which probably explains the difference in your test results, as the higher survivability translates into more DPS over a longer time. Firefights like that are pretty RNG anyway. |
Are you sure about this?
Yes.

Finally, in case all of that wasn't enough, COH2 players can look forward to a seriously juicy content update during the week of December 10th with our Commander Revamp Update.
Together with our invested players and community balance team, we gave 10 underdog commanders a serious overhaul! Major props to everyone involved! Additionally, as part of this patch, players will also be able to enjoy an updated USF Tech System, and some general quality of life balance changes.
Expect new strategies, new abilities, and even a few new units in what's going to be an incredible update for the game.
Happy five years and see you on the field,
The Company of Heroes team!
From the anniversary information email sent by Relic.

OK i will put it simply for you. USF needs this unit to compete against absolutely busted rocket arty from axis side. USF doesnt have rocket arty (unless you count clliope wich is shit) and relies on scotts to provide late game indirect fire.
I will put it simply for you too, the proposed nerf(s) do not touch the Scott's INDIRECT fire ability but aim to tone down its DIRECT auto fire, that is overperforming. Most even suggest to buff the barrage ability in return, something I would agree with.
|
That is simply not true, I strive for a balanced and fun game for everyone. The Scott is overperforming IMO, this thread is about the Scott, so I gave my opinion that it needed an ROF nerf. This thread has nothing to do with the Axis rocket artillery. If you want to discuss those, make a thread about them and I'll support it with my views that I have stated above.
|
Since we all feel bad about squads wiped by indirect fire i hope you dont forget to nerf pwerfer and stuka wiping whole squads and weapon teams in one barrage. You are not this biased to request nerfs for a dead faction while defending op units that are present in every 2v2+ game, right?
If we're gonna have to mention and discuss all similar units whenever a single unit is brought up, it will become impossible to have a solid discussion and the forum would become a complete mess.
I personally think rocket arty in general should have their veterancy cooldown bonusses removed and regarding the Stuka I'd like to see a more spread out AOE that does reliable area damage rather than wiping entire squads. But this discussion is about the Scott. If you want to have a discussion about the Stuka or Panzerwerfer, make a thread about it.
Stuka and pwerfer every game wiping squads left right and center is fine.
Nobody claimed this. It's off-topic. |
Relic just had a 2v2 tournament with COH2's largest cash prizes ever. Why wasn't there any of this top tier USF there? Nobody wanted the $10,000 that would've been so easy to take with double-Scott's and USF's shining late game?
So I guess the fact that (double) OKW was picked a lot in the tourney would indicate the Brummbär was fine and didn't need any nerfs? Besides, with top tier Axis tank micro being so deadly the USF late game simply can't do without Jacksons or the Pershing. In slower paced games (i.e. 95% of the games) ATGs and maybe one Jackson is sufficient AT and Scotts see a lot more usage there.
I remember the name CPU-Non Standard from a couple matches. I don't remember anything else about him, but would bet that he isn't any higher ranked than you. Also, as OKW, you have plenty of options for dealing with Scotts.
That Nonstandard guy is a toxic ragequiter, in 3s and 4s he always leaves if he loses the first engagement.
Also, I'd like to hear what OKW's 'plenty' of options are besides Raketten stealth cheese and Panther dive. |
From commander revamp patch notes:

Reread them yourself. Those links clearly state the numbers are Eastern Front only (as I stated).
The Soviets produced 65k T-34s while losing 45k of them, so they weren't outnumbering the Germans in high ratios at all. At least not until the very end. There were never that many more at any one time. The war-winning feat was that the Soviets could replace tanks as fast as they lost them, not that they could build that many more in comparison.
Panzer IIIs were not used in frontline fighting since summer 1943. Panzer IIs not since the end of 1942. |
