Very helpful. huh I thought they got changed to the weaker tommy bren like sappers did I stand corrected, still not really a wise idea to tech for brens if you go commandos. Commandos fill the AI gap nicely themselves allowing you to skimp on grenade tech and brens midgame with a cqb ambush unit. Obers are better and cheaper stock, once they hit vet 2 with the accuracy boost they will seal club commandos who receive weaker vet. What's the point of teching 150mp and 15f then spending 90muni to ruin your commandos CQB wipe ability with a mid/long DPS buff when they will lose to obers 1vs1 and trade worse vs LMG grens? You shouldn't upgrade brens on commandos as it largely decreases their close range DPS and they are a CQB unit. You'll get a DPS buff at mid and long range but it's rather pointless as they will still trade worse than vet lmg grens. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: British snare problem and potential fixes23 Jun 2018, 10:45 AM Tommies should be a more defensive version of Rifleman, make them 5 man stock but keep RE's 4 man and remove 5 man upgrade. Keep pop cap the same so you are still paying more for this extra performance than volks or grens who are 1 pop cap lower. Starting squad to be changed to an engineer squad for balance. Bundle in an AT grenade with the grenade tech upgrade, then it will have more incentive to tech for. It also opens up the avenue do you want to tech for grenades and snares first or brens and PIATs? Choice in strategy and AT options is good. But right now Brits don't really have many , which in turn makes them a bit boring to play compared to Ost (do I want to go pak and faust? double 222? Puma? pgren Shreks? clowncar shreks? tellers?) In: COH2 Balance

So a lot more even then some ITT would suggest, interesting. If you factor in grenade tech, bren tech, and five man tech (plus x3/x4 28mp for initial reinforced squads getting them up to 5man). I don't think there's any doubt here tommies are slightly better, but are they better enough to justify the massive fuel and manpower dump and lack of snare? Judging on how much they are struggling this is where I see it UKF's problem lies... In: COH2 Balance

They become absolutely too durable in that stage. Unfortunately, without adjusting the other things mentioned, they almost have to be. I'm not sure if you've kept up with balance updates but two patches ago section and royal engineer Recieve accuracy was nerfed quite heavily and last patch Brens were hit pretty hard with the nerfbat too. 5 man tommies with double brens are straight up inferior to double BAR rifles now, yet rifles are still allowed a snare no issues? Okw vs brits are OK. 1vs1 you would say OKW vs UKF is ok how? On larger maps I would say OKW have a slight edge with better lategame vet and tanks (comet and church are just vet bags for command panther and PIV). But on close range maps where you can't rely on 6pdr like Semois brits struggle hard with the lack of snare. 5 volk into fast luch and puma (command panther doc usually too) is straight up nightmare fuel for brits to deal with, your WASP/AEC will have to deal with fausts behind every building, 6pdr is useless due to shot blockers and easily flanked by luch, tommies just constantly lose engagements due to inc nades and forced into retreats while volks can just in and out your nades in return. Then there's the stats in this thread something like 7:1 i favor of OKW, and most of those games were played on brit friendly maps like crossing. However I would agree in 2vs2 brits are stronger than they are in 1vs1, but only because you have crucially an ally with a snare, mortar and lategame arty to fix up your factional weaknesses. Then UKF will be playable again. case closed No calling the sniper aimshot a snare is not an answer, it's tied to one fragile unit and you can't even use it until vet 1. It's not comparable to Fausts at all, especially because snipers themselves only hit the field the same sort of time your opponent is building a 222. In: COH2 Balance

It's the classic relic overnerf all over again (see comet for a prime example) The only crutches they had were Brens, AEC snareshot, AT boys and Centaur which made them competitive. These crutches were balanced by the fact UKF lack everything else like main inf snare, mortar, engie flamers and need a lot of investment in upgrades for tommies. Guess what happens when you remove all these perks the faction has and only give them a 10fuel discount on the cromwell and a few gimmicky commander abilities in return? You get a weak faction that is "in line" with other factions but crucially lacks the basic tools other factions have at their disposal. In: COH2 Balance
