First off, "do nothing" is quite obviously not the same as "no opinion" so the poll is already biased.
Second off, I hate to be that guy but what rank are you roughly? As we know the game balances differently at different skill levels, would be good to know at what ranks blobbing is a problem.
Personally I haven't seen this as an issue in 1v1 at all in a long time - yes it's a fairly low-skill tactic with a high skill counter, yes MGs plus just about any kinds of explosive already counter it. Don't counter a blob with another blob, just bleed it then tech up faster than them while they waste all their MP on reinforcements. Not always easy but it can be done and it's fun when you pull it off.
Sander's "solution" makes a bit more sense but personally, I don't think we need to do anything.
From Allied perspective, how can me and my friend deal with Panzer Grenadiers / Grenadier or Volksgrenadier blobs (we are at rank 2000). The Allied MGs don't suppress all the units like the MG-42 does. |
They get one transferable normal G43, and -10% received accuracy and -15% weapon cooldown. It's an upgrade that costs 60 munitions and 30 MP to reinforce the extra model.
They are at best equal to Riflemen with 1 BAR, but usually narrowly lose as far as I could tell in tests. While costing the same basically (270MP/60MU vs 280MP/60MU) and Riflemen can get the edge with a second BAR.

Seeing that you have to invest 60 ammunition for each squad to be 5 men and then only have one G43 while other factions can purchase Bars and Brens for that ammunition, I think the 5 men squads are balanced.
You also invest a commander ability slot and give up doctrinal lategame gimmicks with the infantry commander.
Is it really 1 G43 or more? Because they now seem like snipers. You can't close in with infantry to kill them, plus in mid range combat, they also beat Riflemen. At least that's what i experienced since the new patch went live. |
Thompsons all the way. Rangers are great for CQB with Riflemen backing them up from medium range. You just spray and pray! |

I played some games today and i really need to get used to it. I somehow messed up my builds and got obliterated to pieces with my friend (it's some kind of new meta now for Wehrmacht players to just use engineers only, and some Grenadiers with a gun upgrade -can't remember the name of the gun), but i just need to get used to it. I'm still wondering why they changed the Lieutenant and gave him a bazooka upgrade instead of a BAR, but then i remembered "oh wait, Lieutenant has a Thompson by default!". Grenade cost is amazing, you can yeet grenades all day long to entrenched opponents. Build orders need re-adjustment |
So when you're wrong you are mistaken, but anybody else is lying? And you are wrong. The 57 has 130 penetration at max range, the AP rounds ability is a 50% bonus. 65 is 50% of 130, giving you 195 max range penetration. Pak40, and 6lber have 190, ZiS has 180. The 57 is also the only AT gun that gets a pen bonus with Vet.
It's reload time, vet 1 ability, and wider arc are the reason it has to. It's better at literally everything else, there has to be some trade-off.

I used a 57mm in a game recently and i held a Panther with it, a M10 and a bazooka equipped Echelons. Didn't know that vetted 57mm is better than both Pak and ZiS |
It's not bad, you just need more than 1 to deal with Axis armor. It has bad damage and penetration, but has good rate of fire. And for heavies you'd better rely on Jacksons to do the job. |
High level USF is typically Heavy Cavalry, and it's always one you want there: it's USF's Spec Ops/Mobile Defence comeback commander.
Except from Heavy Cavalry, what else? I am currently running Mechanized and Armor, but i'm not so sure about them |
