Where should i focus planting mines? Retreat paths are obvious, but i want someone to give me some more examples. Of course i am talking about anti-tank mines, i don't use anti-personnel mines at all. |
I don't mind it being a Vet 3 tank on call-in. I don't mind it being a one-off call-in either. They're both interesting unique mechanics that work quite well.
The resource penalty, however, is a failed mechanic that's been progressively scaled back to the point where the Tiger Ace even has a fuel cost now.
They should just abandon it already and whack the cost up to 800 MP 300 FU or whatever the TA's really worth.
This mechanic also existed in CoH1 where the King Tiger would drain your resources for 10 minutes (don't remember exactly) and then they would return to normal again. The few times i played Ost or OKW, i fielded Elefant and Jagdtiger and i strongly avoid Tiger Ace |
Because a unit that penalizes you for preserving it is counterintuitive and flies against the design of the rest of the game. Just raise the price to what the Tiger Ace is actually worth.
In this case, if you want the penalty to be removed, then remove the veterancy and just let it earn veterancy easier. Or even better, give it the ability to disembark the crew for repairs just like USF |
I'm all for a KT for Ost. I might want to add that this all would have to include getting rid of the ressource penalty. That is broken game design. Being punished for keeping a unit alife isn't what this game is about.
Why should they remove it? You get a powerful vet 3 heavy tank. What do you want? Getting it at 0CP and cost set to 150 manpower and 5 fuel? You get a strong unit, you get punished for it, if you don't want it, don't field it. Not to mention that Ost has 3 choices for heavy tanks. Tiger Ace, Tiger and Elefant. |
Just reduce their price so that OKW mains can finally get a smile on their face and people continue shifting from Allies to Axis. |
Why not add a .50 cal upgrade (similar to Sherman) so that it can at least fight off infantry? Or even better, improve ROF and/or damage. Or give it the canister shot. There are many alternatives out there. |
Actually soviets have the T-70 to deal with that thing, and also they have Guards and Penals so apparently they are more than enough to deal with Wehrmacht vehicles. Also, against Wehrmacht you don't want your troops to get caught in MG's line of fire, so spread out and attack from multiple directions. Soviets have 6-man squads which means that they are able to stay pinned longer than other squads. Use that to your advantage. |

I thought about it myself, and i really wanted to see OKW teaming up with USF in 2v2, but as we all know, seonsorship in this forum is something that doesn't let you share your ideas. |
There was a wehrmacht Battalion fighting alongside the americans in Austria before the war ended Kappa
You mean the battle of Castle Itter? |
Alright, i hope that this post will be on topic, but the whole concept of "don't talk about balance unless you are a pro" is wrong and i will explain why down below.
First of all we are talking about a game. You don't go to university to learn the game. So, as long as we are talking about the game, everyone can tell their opinion. The game's balance is something everyone can talk about and share an opinion. Besides, the same thing happens in our everyday life when we are encouraged to talk about our political beliefs. Anyways, if you read Plato's dialogue called "Protagoras", you will see that Socrates (one of the protagonists of the dialogue) says that when people are talking about something regarding the city, everyone can share their opinion, be it poor, wealthy, ill, ugly, beautiful etc. But when it comes to stuff related to professions, only then citizens are not allowed to talk. If they are talking about shipbuilding, only the shipbuilders can tell their opinion, if they are talking about blacksmithing, only blacksmiths can tell their opinion. The reason? You simply can't tell to a shipbuilder how to construct a ship, and you also can't tell a blacksmith how to forge a shield and a sword. The same thing applies in today's society. You can't tell a mechanic how to fix your car and you also can't tell a doctor how to make a heart surgery unless you are trained for that.
In simple words, the citizens (all of us CoH2 players) are discussing the balance issues of the game, and the City Council (the players again) listen to the issues and try to solve them. So, ask yourselves, can you teach game balance to someone? But before answering to this question, i will advise you to read Plato's dialogue "Protagoras" |
