Wehrmacht has even "own Falls" in the gamefiles with different ui. Lets cross our fingers that the unit find his way in a possible revamp. In: COH2 Balance

Ostheer has Infantry, Jaeger infantry, Jaegar armor, new Reserve armor, Mechanized, Tiger Ace when a few year ago it was 100% lightning war or bust. Some work better in teamgames and others 1v1, but Ostheer has a fantastic array of commanders to complement their strats at this time. TLDR; Revamps are amazing and helping the game alot +1 In: COH2 Balance

Nerfing increase the meta commander pool. Do you really think people choose Festung Support without any changes if Jaeger Armor is nerfed? Will people choose Firestorm without changes only because specops will be nerfed? No they wont. Its legit to nerf meta commanders but 2nd or 3rd tier commanders will not be more attractive if they are broken like Firestorm/Festung Support/ Soviet Defense etc. These commanders need to be more attractive too. I'd much rather see a complete redo of the commander with a totally different concept. Let the rework start with the theme of the doctrine I would certainly support it. I really think some of the problematic commanders suffer from their name / theme. "Firestorm" is a good example, it totally narrows the theme, would be much better to rename it "Urban Assault"- that would open so many options for the mod team. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Possible commander revamp candidates4 Aug 2019, 08:57 AM Thx for opening this thread Aarotron,here are my thoughts: OKW: The coming changes to Specops in combination with some minor changes to 2nd or 3rd tier commanders are a big chance for future OKW commander diversity. Breakthrough: Only changes to Sturmofficer and Sector Arty needed, JT could be traded with Sturmtiger, obviously JT should not use HEAT rounds then Luftwaffe: Falls need buff, Heavy Fortification replaced by Ostwind, rest of doctrine is fine Scavenge Could stay as it is but "Thorough Salvage" should be reworked, Ostwind could be replaced with a T-34/76 but this is not a must All in all the only OKW doctrine that need a real revamp and no minor changes is Firestorm. Wehrmacht: I fully agree with what you already posted: Festung Support and one of the Luftwaffe doctrine should be reworked I personally would prefer "Luftwaffe Supply" - it could give the mod team the chance to include Wehr Falls. Hungarian divisions may have had better equipment but in terms of sheer numbers the Romanians were much more important, they had way more divisions in the east. Besides that i like some of the ideas you presented and would like to see them in a rework of Festung Support Commander: • Forward Headquarter • 120 mm Grw42 would fit perfectly to the theme. I also agree that the LeIG18 would be an ideal addition to a "mountain warfare" doctrine. I thought hard about making this theme my official wehrmacht submission but was not satisfied with the results. I would love to work out something together with you and appreciate every feedback, especially how Gebirgsjäger (unit in wehr gamefiles) could work. The unit should not be a copy of JLI imo. Finally heres my own interpretation of your USF Spearhead Company idea: Raid tactics (0CP) Cav Rifles (1CP) Recon plane (4 CP) P47 bombing run (12 CP) M26 Pershing Heavy Tank (9 CP, tied to major tech) In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: New Commander concepts.2 Aug 2019, 18:36 PM Happy that this thread is open again, "Strategic reserve" was born here. Some general ideas: USF had by far the most powerful airforce in the war but right now it has less powerful airstrikes than OKW (who basically had to fight without air support). Would love some USF commander ideas that included airstrikes like "US invasion forces" (original idea of Sander) with "Strategic bombing". I think a P-47 bombing run would also be appealing (could ne used for Tactical Support). Wehrmacht has Gebirgsjäger in the gamefiles, maybe we manage to design a proper "mountain warfare" doctrine. Wehrmacht Falls could be used in a "Luftwaffe Supply doctrine" rework or in a new doctrine. In: COH2 Gameplay
