In a game like CoH where you are not mass producing on everything or micro'ing economy, this maybe the best situation for an RTS to be on a console. The only thing I would say is Relic's poor creation on DoW3. RTS games require accurate and quick inputs, devices like controllers are exceptionally bad at providing this. He said if you play better than your opponent you have a 95% chance of winning, not that good players win 95% of their games. Balance discussions are always a shitfest, especially in asymetrical RNG-influenced games like Coh. Say you're up against OKW and the metagame is going Luchs. That's what they're most likely to do, but they could also go early Flak HT or bring out a Puma first. They're not likely to to but it's possible, so you've got to account for those possibilities too. I agree with your differentiation between RNG and probablity, but you can't compare randomness from games to randomness from players. Difference is that human psychology is not random and player decisions are 100% made by the player himself and are thus completely controllable. Its a difference wether you get rekt by a lucky mortar shell or your opponent caught you off guard with an unexpected build-order. I would even go as far as to say that exactly there lies the "meat" in a lot of competitive games, as you are truly playing against the other player, and not playing against the game per se. However, I think this is just a pc game not real life. To be fair, the game should always be 100% exact. Not even Starcraft was 100% "exact" and its considered one of the most balanced games, hell not even chess is balanced since only one side gets the very first turn. Random elements add excitement to the game, controllable randomness like its implemented in CoH makes it possible to generally predict the outcome of a scenario quite accurately (High-Ground in SC1, Crit in WC3 and Mobas, Bullet-Spread in CS). If cost is calculated exactly then Panzer IV should not destroy the T34/76 so easily. Panzer IV sometimes destroys T34/85 easily which costs more. Without a commander Soviets only have a T-34/76. T34/85 is better at dealing with infantry than the PanzerIV, and has more health. Specific, isolated 1on1 scenarios dont tell the full story of a unit. Just like in AoE, units have their strengths and weaknesses. In: COH2 Gameplay

This is the worst modern RTS in which a unit's maximum range ability can't be used because the unit itself can't see that far. Units not seeing as far as they can fire is common in RTS games. If you are in a position to attack base buildings instead of the recovering infantry, or actually manage to destroy a building and retreat without losing your tank, then you were already winning so hard its basically over. If you are rushing your opponents base and destroying his buildings without him having any sort of AT, then you already won the game anyway. This "Issue" of base buildings being destructable is absolutely irrelevant. Funny enough, UKF is probably the most vulnerable when it comes to base rushes, simply due to them not having AT snares on their main infantry, so really OP is crying about axis getting rushed while UKF is the faction having the hardest time dealing with it. The point of having 3 SPs? One for AT purpose,one for clearing mines and one for building bases( one guy adviced that OKW also should need SP for building bases) Go ahead and do that, you will soon enough realize that while having 3 SP's is "nice", you will fall behind and start losing more games. Also you'll have to explain what you mean with "building bases", if you want to play Sim city then you should just switch over to UKF tbh. In: COH2 Balance

If you're playing against OKW then play accordingly and anticipate an aggressive start. Im unsure about the general performance of OKW in the midgame, i dont think people fully adjusted to the new patch so things will probably change quite a bit. In: COH2 Balance

The 4 su76 tactic was coincidentally founded by me during a match when one of the OST players produced nothing but tigers I hope you are not suggesting that the only reason people started spamming this unit was because of you "inventing" it. People are smart enough to figure out what works well and what doesnt. 4 SUs are not cheap. 1120 MP and 300 fuel in total. And 32 pop( or 28 I forget the number). This is more than the cost of a JT or elephant. That is a flawed comparison, you could say the same about spamming tons of 222's and their cost efficiency vs. a Pershing. I personally disdain those noobs who turned to play Soviet after the last patch, a faction which was basically the least play of the all in 4v4. Especially those su76 spammers who had never tried su76 before the patch. You guys misguided relic to nerf the unit Why do you disdain those players? I really struggle to see the logic here. If people discovered how good the SU76 was and started to spam it for that reason, how is that "misguiding" relic when its a clear testament to the viability of that unit? They wouldnt spam it if it wasnt a really good unit. You dont "own" that strategy, its not the "new spamming noobs" fault that the unit got nerfed, you dont have a trademark on SU76 spam and your feelings matter less than the balance of the game.
