Grenadiers need to remain still to deal damage, and if I reposition them every 6 seconds to dodge the 100% accuracy of the pack howitzer, I’m gonna lose the engagement I'd hope so, the pack howie is a howitzer that takes 3X0 manpower, a side tech, and can't hard retreat compared to a wehr techless 260 manpower unit. Not to mention pretty sure pack howie fires slower than wehr mortar. If your gren is fighting enemy unit + howie it should lose the engagement not sure why you think otherwise. If they have pack howie they're gonna have a much smaller force due to the cost and teching, you can should be taking advantage of that. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Buff old Osttruppen Commander12 Jun 2019, 00:17 AM ostruppens are just a wehr conscript right now and frankly i think they make the conscript play style better than soviets (without t70). support and zone for weapon team and the superior wehr weapon team to do heavy lifting and take that advantage into a tech snowball. they're far too good considering this is a soviet theme. I think what they should do is reduce the cost of ostruppen to around 120 (maybe not this much but you get the idea), but no more lmg42. Nerf them by making the call in 2 or 3 at a time i.e. 360 for three squads. Frankly lmg42 is quite bullshit since conscripts don't get baseline upgrades. This way the first call in (give it a possible cool down) is always worth it but the ones after are a real decision. This makes sure they're differentiated from conscripts in that they're weaker and inferior but even cheaper. They also can't easily be replaced in the sense if a squad wipes, its a serious decision of whether you want to replace them with another three. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Appreciation for the map makers10 Jun 2019, 00:28 AM Having come back to COH2 recently after a long hiatus playing most warhammer total war Most things haven't changed but I've noticed the map rosters for 1v1 and 2v2 have changed drastically! I've noticed I have enough spare vetoes just veto things I don't feel like playing that moment rather than any outright terrible maps! The new maps all feel incredibly balanced for the large part yet with nice interesting nuances. Thanks a lot you map makers! The game ultimately boils down to the same infantry into vehicle build orders and doesn't vary all that much, its the maps that keep it alive and these current maps are just creme de la creme compared to the things like semoiskiy summer, la gleize etc In: Mapping Discussion

Considering the franchise has a cult following that would happily buy a third WWII era game why mess with what works. Thread: Your load out prejudices30 Oct 2018, 10:57 AM Every time I load up a game, I like to guess what opponents load out says about them since I find there's generally a pattern players with: only core infantry bulletins: mid tier "try hard" follow the meta player purchased face plates: plays aggressively multiple weapons team bulletins: will play statically Mechanized Assault Doctrine: is on the spectrum players who are still playing brit: will simcity asian players: will blob and focus fire triple at gun bulletins: will play passively and wait for you to make mistakes default 1 infantry 1 mg 1 medium tank bulletin: pro player wehraboo names like "panzer 9th division obersoldatenfuhrer": will blob premium units pzgrens/obers, skip vehicles except panther, tiger etc In: Lobby
