For clarity:

The DLC had to be priced high so people who bought the premium edition dont feel screwed. Relic just dropped the ball and couldnt deliver enough content to be worth the price. As usual Relic failed.

This patch like all the others is a good step forward but the game is still unfinished trash. The skirmish menu is a %$^$^# joke. They didnt touch it again. The bulk of players are skirmish players and the menu is broken trash. As usual Relic failed.

If anyone at Relic actually played the game, they could fix it. But they dont. So it will always be shit.

Other people enjoying different aspects of the game doesn't make anyone a simpleton. It just means they enjoy different aspects of the game. If there's ONE thing I believe does make someone a simpleton in this context, it's spamming one or two units and neglecting the rest.

Finally, letting other people decide how you feel is kind of a shitty way to live, man.

For clarity, You are correct. The majority of Coh3 players are happy with a barely functioning game. That is my point exactly. Coh3 will never be a great game because the moron player base will not require it.

This game is only partially functioning. UI is missing important elements. Menu system is trash. And what did the idiots ask for????? Leaver Penalties.

Why ask for a functioning game when you could ask for a mechanic that will drive away an already dwindling player base? How many top players are going to sit thru a trash game when their partner is a noob or even when the enemies are noobs? BORING AS F**K games. Now you have people going AFK in games. Which is even worse than leaving. And those people will be banned soon, making the player base even smaller.

if you have been to the Relic Discord or Reddit, you will know how completely dumb Coh3 players are. And they are the bulk of the player base. So Relic has to listen to their wants.

Every effort will only be as good as the least common denominator. For Coh3, that is glue eaters.

MY REASONS
I am not a top player. All I want is visible kill counts and a working menu system and I would be happy.

Kill counts so when I watch streams I can see WTF is going on.

Polished Menu System so people playing the game dont feel like it is a broken ass beta at best. I am looking for the absolute bare minimum. But Relic cant do it. They never have and never will.

Coh1 - Shit menu system.
Coh2 - Better.
Coh3 - Trash at first, now much better. But still broken and half assed.

I am just asking for the shit that should have been done in 2018 to actually be done in 2024, 14 months after release.

We have all seen 1000 posts about what needs fixed in Coh3. I wanted to point out some cool new features that may have been missed by the casual observer. Todays post is about the new OBJECT RENDERING SHADER.

COH3 OBJECT SHADER
Shader: A program that runs on the GPU that can do all kinds of calculations to determine the final pixel that gets rendered.

One awesome advance in Coh3 is when map objects are rendered, the terrain under them is mixed into the resulting render. This means US MAPPERS can actually modify the way some objects look!!! WHAT!!!


Here we have a giant boulder/mountain piece.


Here the object has been lowered into the ground. And we can see that when it is rendered, the shader has picked up the reddish sand color and applied it to about a meter or so (blue dots) of the boulder. Very cool.


Here I applied a grid texture to help show the effect.


If you want to fully utilize this effect, you need to build up the terrain under the object so it is just below the objects height. Here we went nuts and made Terminator Mountain.

Other objects that have this effect are buildings, stairs, sidewalks, etc. This is one more thing that makes me say Relic started off with a grand plan. Elevation for Italy scenarios and this effect to a add dusty sandy look to things in the desert.

I like to think Relic has a plan. They want each faction to play different. And each faction should require a certain amount of skill.

So there should be a really easy to play faction and a really hard to play faction.

But after Coh3, I am not so sure Relic had a plan.
