Thread: Rzhev Winter 3v33 Aug 2018, 23:41 PM Latest Version (6) Rzhev Rosbone (v2) LATEST BIG CHANGES 1. The other big imbalance on this map is that the North has to cross red cover near the frontline of the map. North red cover not changed. South red cover removed from right in front of the base. Added roads that lead to the new TP and then curves to the south (BLUE). This creates the red cover balance shown by (GREEN lines) Another shot to show how the new road changed the map layout. Small house moved south a little. Added another break in the fence (YELLOW) because the new fence was made slightly longer. Added a sight blocker by right VP to help flank MGs (AQUA). 2. Modified base MGs. Both bases had MGs that covered the closest point to the base. North point was moved as well to get clear of MG arc. The bases are too small for a 3v3 so large vehicles can only get out of the base in two places. SHOULD I FIX THIS? In: Summer patch 2018

I get your point As I described in Whiteflashs new Nexus thread, a good map gives the player options. Crossroads has extra points so you do not have to push in one direction. If left looks bad, then go right. It is that simple. Stick your head thru the sight blockers and it looks good, then keep going. Else fall back behind the sight blockers to safety and try a different strategy. Moving the Munition to the right gives the players options. They can double up the left side or the right side. Then push into the middle. It opens up new strategy possibilties. But as usual, it is just you and I thinking about it. We need a tie breaker (as if my say had any value). In: Summer patch 2018

The 10th cutpoint (5 orange) is also often better defended by southside, so southside has most of the time 6 cuts, while north only 4. I would move the point 5 orange more to north. The point was moved north and has been moved a little more north in the latest version. In the original picture post you can see that the point is already north of the "approximate center" of the map (WHITE LINE is from VP to VP). That is why the new TP5 was added south of the white line. The new TP5 in the latest version is more north to balance between buildings now. In: Summer patch 2018

From the south house you don't have. - Can you fix the ice in the start? - Moved house B to the left. Both TP5 and VP2 can be taken if MGs are located at A or B. The points are out of range. Each point is around 50m at farthest points from A and B. - Also fixed the ice. May want to keep the hole since it shows off the ice refreeze mechanic. So who wins the middle gets 1 more vp and 1 stratagy point as reward. - The new TP makes it so you can fight in the middle on a much wider scale. There was never any reason to go east of the middle VP. There were no points. Now you can flank to the right and get a TP for your trouble. Then attack across the water to the left to gain the middle VP. Or push the enemy cutoff to the north east. You have more options than run face first into MGs and AT guns until mortar decides a winner In: Summer patch 2018

Thread: 1vs1 Removing map from automatch2 Aug 2018, 19:25 PM Nigo, the reason so many maps are not ready for automatch is they have not been tested. There are hundreds of maps that MAY be good. But unless they are played we will never know for sure. And putting the maps in the game is a long process so you want to be sure. Here is a winter 1v1 map I just posted not too long ago (2) Novgorod Outskirts Only one person tried it and commented. One. And no replays have been uploaded to my knowledge. Steam says it has been downloaded 8 times by 7 people. Generically it has not been tested. The best way to get new maps is a map contest so the maps can be peer reviewed and then played on by top players. Currently, Trics SMC is the best format for getting testing accomplished. Whiteflash also sees the necessity in this with his Nexus tournament. The community will not put time into a map unless they are sure something will come of their effort. However, these maps are not peer reviewed so little bugs and things may still slip thru. The 2v2 map contest was the best shot at getting decent maps. But there were some glitches that kept it from being perfect. Hopefully someday we get another type of contest for 1v1 or even better 4v4 maps ROSBONES MANIFESTO As a freshly minted MAPMAKER on COH2.org I felt we needed a test. I posted Novgorod Outskirts to test the communities willingness to try maps not by a known map maker since Whiteflash had just released Nexus. Novgorod 8 downloads. Nexus 592 downloads. The community believes that a Whiteflash map will get into the game or since he has maps in game already, it is a quality map. So they put in the effort to check it out. NOTE: Novgorod was not on the steam list so the 8 downloads are from COH2.Org only. Not the clearest results. COH2.Org views Novgorod 118, Nexus 2061. Nexus has been posted about many more times and each time garners views so that metric is also skewed. So the jury is still out. Maybe another test is required In: Summer patch 2018

I did not checked it ingame, but what kind of vehicles can kill it? Also can Royal Eng blow it away, so that a wickers in the south house has free LoS? Hedges are heavy crush. However you can shoot them with all kinds of stuff to eventually destroy it. Brit engrs will destroy cover. They will not destroy a hedge by itself. So if there are logs, trees, etc nearby then they can destroy the hedge as collateral damage. EDIT: Brits will destroy hedges the demo just needs to be moved away from the hedge a little. I am not sure if i like this point at all. I can see why you want to have it in. But atm i am not convinced yet. My thoughts: - Resources are miss matched. Wrong number of resources on map. - This part of the map is empty. Promotes camping. Forces the boring "Two go left, One go right" everytime. - The house by the bridge is never used and is visually very cool. A few little things need to get cleaned up once we agree on the big things.
