OK, now I see this. It wasn't written properly, so I didn't parse it correctly on the first few times.
Nevertheless, all I have to say is:
- We've never discussed our precise plans about OKW to the OP
- In fact, we don't even know who the OP is
- Thus, the OP has no clue about what we're doing, and he's simply starting rumours
- If the OP wanted to state what he believes we are up to, he should have mentioned "I don't know what the balance team are up to; however, my guess is that..."
As a community, at the very least we should grow the reflexes to:
- Question rumours presented as facts
- Don't jump in on the rumour wagon before you request the source for the information
- If you want to spread what you believe is valid information, always reference the original source, so that others can judge it
- At absolutely every cost, do not amplify rumours
(This applies to real life as well).
Alright well, I agree with that. I don't care much what you do in terms of creating what you think is 'balance' within the game, as long as the you (the balance team) gets consensus from the majority of the community and avoid just putting the changes in cus you think that's best. |
When somebody is in the business of creating rumours, you should always be asking for some sort of evidence; not jumping on the rumour bandwagon. Otherwise, you're simply taken in for a ride.
Nevertheless, I still don't see any mention of "veterancy" or the number "5" in this thread.
The OP states that the balance team is 'removing additional vet' for OKW. I'd simply like to know where on this site the suggested changes are so I can make my own assumptions |
It is my opinion that relic will not likely remove a mechanic completely, thus the best way to adjust issues would be to looking at severely limiting FRPs. There have been a fair few good suggestions. It wouldn't be terrible if they were removed, but I like that it makes the factions play differently (I acknowledge the fact that there big issues with it). |
My vote is on incendiary/wp grenades on sturmpios and an isg smoke barrage. The former would make the incendiaries a lot more valuable, as they aren't on spammed main infantry, but on an expensive unit that you will only make 2 of at the most and that is close quarters, so couldn't care less about whether their targets are in cover (10m rule). It would also mean that volks gotta rely on something else to be effective too, and would open a little more counterplay as you know "those are the only guys with the incendiary." I don't understand why the latter doesn't already exist.
+1. who even uses the stun grenades at vet 3 anyway |
I am also rather pessimistic when it comes to these kinds of changes, but keep in mind that Relic (mostly) abandoned the Blizzard feature, which was by far the most hyped before the game came out.
The same thing goes for the OKW munitions/fuel boost mechanic.
That's true, it is still technically speaking in the game (I take your point that it's not in auto match) |
I highly doubt relic will agree to any features being removed entirely from the game. This thread reminds me of the whole 'let's get rid of emplacements' thing. It's probably better to have a work around for the people somehow suffering at the hands of 'OP' units and mechanics, then just to axe the concept entirely. as people have said, this can have a knock on effect. |
Check out this post.
Vielen Dank Alter. you put some proper effort in there ![:) :)](/images/Smileys/smile.gif) |
I thought some green cover like walls could block shots from tanks. |
These levels have absolutely no relation to niether rank nor skill. They are based on how much experience all your units got during all your matches - so in fact all they are related to is playtime. Mind that the single player playtime also counts and that some players have multiple accounts.
Cheers now I know |
Does anyone know how auto match actually works? I mean I get that its based off of your auto match rank and not your level, but I consistently find myself up against max level players, although I'm only half that. How do the levels relate to your place in the leader boards? |
