It's an interesting thread, I'd like to put in my tought.
1st let's be clear, atm COH2 is a better game, more maps, more commander, a better meta ? (debatable). Some graphic and sound design that are more enjoyable ? And ofc 6/7 years of constant (at the beggining) support and update.
2nd I myself enjoy COH3 and I'm having fun on it, I play mostly 1v1 but I've played few teamgames this last patch and they seemed fine. At least for my taste. Games felt fun and entertaining.
What the game needs now is MORE MAPS, MORE BATTLEGROUPS and some meta adjustment. Again that's my opinion, i'm a relic spokeperson.
3rd I havnt played COH1 multiplayera lot because I was 10 at the time but was it as heavy tank as COH2? IIRC there are perhing, churchills, tiger, jagpanther and maybe panther (medium/heavy what a question), wich is far less than COH2. So was it also focused on heavy beasts. Feel free to correct me, my knowledge of COH1 is scarce.
From what I'm seeing and reading in these kind of thread it feels, FOR ME, that a lot of you just want COH2.5 or a similar game. Wich is fair enough but I don't think that's what RELIC was planning.
Feel free to agree or disagree with me, i'll be curious to have your tought on this. |
Not enough transgender, non binary, dual soul apache helicopters playing.
Literally no target audience here, mate.
However, we should consider walking a mile in Relics shoes to understand them better.

you made me laugh while looking up well played sir
well I guess we can only hope that they"ll keep on with the game... |
And one of the things that bugs me te most is the sheer number of identified problems that were in coh2 such as OP loiter, forward reinforcement, call-ins that were PATCHED. So relic should have known about these and yet we have to see the same stupid design mechanics and then nerf. That might be the thing that infuriate me the most, making the same mistakes again and again.
And for the idea that coh3 is developped for 1v1, I havnt seen relic promote a single 1v1 tourny in ages. I'm pretty sure that if there is more map in the 1v1 gamemode it is because these were maps designed for the campaign where games are a single player against a single AI.
And yes tournament are just unfun to watch, way more than coh2 and I don't really have an answer to that... Even when I want to understand a certain strategy I get bored very fast somehow; so I end up playing a bit and then stop.
I'm so tired |
Well about the auto reinforcement if it boggers good players wencan even go as far as forcing it to be disable in competition. Bur for the casual people like the friends I sometime play with it's such a reflief. Some people don't have the micro, experience, and thinking time to do all these micro things. And if you do not like it, as I said at the beggining make a poll for tournament players and see if they want it on or off. problem solved imo. |
Let's be real, coh2 right now is just not fun to play anymore, the meta is too stale and some commanders are just too OP, from a 1v1 2v2 perspective not a lot of people will stay on coh2... |
LMAO
what are you talking about?
Free French government of NA? If so, I would also like to include the fighting time of Greeks in NA AND EL ALAMEIN WHICH THEY ALSO FOUGHT BUT I DID NOT INCLUDE
1940, my mistake. |
Actually France fought the war against germany from te 3rd september 1939 to 17 june (1941)*1940, doesn't seem to be 43 days... |
Alright for the "listening the community part", And why are we the part of the community they should listen to? ,but please define authenticity. We are talking about a GAME, not a book, a film, a documentary, not a piece of Hisotory. WW2 was an horrible period people died in millions, genocide took place, all sort of horrors were commited; if the game is fun it will never be authentic nor historic. And as someone pointed that he has a PHD i'm a university student in XXe History focusing on armies and war. |
Alright, some people don't like the idea of fictionnal tank/prototype. I get it, but why should relic listen to you? What is your legitimity on this topic. We're talking about this subject for weeks now but we are a small part of the community. Like it or not, our opinion is irrelevant. When relic is selling their product it's selling to the people that know the game but don't play a lot, WW2 interested people, strategy enjoyers. But not us the diehard fans. Why? because we're so small that we buying the game or not won't change. So my take on this topic is who cares about historical accuracy? Why? And in the end no one cares outside of us about this debate. Altought it's fun to read those. |
I see i'm not gtting answers anymore. I wonder why? |
