Soviets are a travesty. They didn't even ask a Russian to check it and it's full of mistakes. Also, they seemed to make them speak like an Ork army. Bad. Very bad.
By realistic i mean't how units voice acting is done to reflect situation. in Coh 1 riflemen talked like "fucking jerry asshole bastards attacking" style, bit comedic way. In coh 2 units are bit more realistic when they are under attack, yelling and screaming more reasonably (maybe expect brits). Also the fact that at least ostheer and soviet units yelled when they were losing men seriously feeled bad (at least first. However this was dropped with western front factions. Yeah russian voice acting was quite bad i give you that, but at least germans were fine. |

In Company of Heroes 2, the British force has a lot of tanks to play with. Sometimes it creates confusion what tank to take for countering various German tanks.

Cromwell, mobile flanking tank, with less effective gun at longer ranges but good penetration chance at close.
firefly: hardcounter to heavy armor with powerful main gun, but average durability
Comet: cromwell with steroids
churchill: Moving stonewall with decent gun, best used to take damage for weaker tank behind
valentine: shitty stuart with ability to spot targets trough fow, but pretty useless in everything else (relic pls rework)

It is certainly effective, but controlling can be nasty as it fires backwards only, meaning you must be whole the time moving it by traversing. Against okw its useful only if he is not rushing for luchs. Even then its is easy to counter as it has simular armor to 222 and it ALWAYS takes extra damage as it shows its rear all the time and okw can easily fetch raketten from base building. m20 simply is better as it brings shock value earlier and cheaper, and also has more utility. |
I don't agree with russianhamster in many points but I must say that I truly enjoyed okw much more before the unfortunate redesign it got, with most interesting features removed.
What designs you actually mean? I Personally miss times when mg 34 was doctrine unit, same with pnz 4 and kubel was your suppression platform. sure, modern design is more consistent as now they have always access to reliable medium tank and.... pretty weak mg that does its job. While lack of those earlier made it harder, i think those were thing that made okw unique, having lack of those units in your basic rooster and having some other unit in its place. |
Thing is that do you let your enemy control the point where he drops them. sure, in team games some maps have fuel points in quite safe locations (cough cough lienne forest) But usually the are in pretty easily accessable location. Once you see supply planes flying over, send your units there. Some enemies are foolish and have only 1 pioneer or volks grabbing them, so in that case just rolling in and forcing them to retreat is choice. Smarter foe might have mg or multiple infantry units protecting so you must plan out it more, having something like mortars or light armour to push them out from there. but best choice is trying to capture those point frequently as if you are constantly attacking there, enemy might not dare to try calling them in because of the risk of attack. |
OKW just need a good mobile AT like Wehr PG-shreks. RW43 was good in combination with shrek volks, but its really usless without it - short fire range and huge aim time making them easy to flank and its easier to kill the crew with any weapons due to the lack of cover.
Sturmpio shreks are just a joke, because they have low HP, high cost and only one shrek. And you need to remember what they have more other tasks on the battlefield like repairing, putting mines, demining and etc.
After all changes with volks I think they will be good with shreks again or you can give 2 shreks to Obers or rework pio shreks package (add second shrek with more armour and HP to squad, but with removing a repair ability and etc.).
Exactly that is imo the most notable problem in sturmpios having shreck, they have too many roles attached to them. They are early on your close range dps and flankers, your mine placers, repairers mobile anti tank, deminers and if chosen doctrine, anti garrison unit. This wouldn't be problem with other engineers, but it is on sturmpios who allready take lot of popcap and are expensive as hell so you can have max 2 of them to be practical. Shrecks must be given to some other unit or made completely new unit dor it, as it stands, sturmpios are bit too occupied to fill all roles and you need to get multiple, otherwise you either lack mine clearing or repair or mobile anti tank. (though lot of people have gotten used to not have infantry anti tank as okw) also single shreck is useless on them as told earlier. |

I was wondering if you have felt the same, but when i have played coh 2 for the time i have, i have noticed that certain commanders have simuliar players playing the certain commanders. I'd like to know do you have met same or if you have what kind of people or things with certain commanders. Please note that i play mostly team games so there can be lot of diffirences you have faced of certain commanders or strats, so keep that in mind. I have noticed this one popping up when i have played.
Jaeger armour: What i have noticed of these players being few things, they often go stug life spam, perhaps because of spotting scopes, and ive also noticed that they rarely use their recon and they are very bad with their Stuka bombs. They either target fairly poor target ( braced mortar pit )or they completely miss their intended target.

I think its okay, thought i barely see people using it. Main reason might be that people don't want to fill up their pop-cap with osttruppen as they come at 6cp which means you have quite large army at hat point, and yo don't want to overpopulate so you can get some tanks out. I like his ability and use it in few scenarios:
1: In bigger attacks where i might have problem managing and keeping my units alive
2: I hear rocket arty fire and realize that i have too many infantry bunched up and panic activate it so if i lose units, i get something to the field to replace them quick.
3: I have tried using them by purposely taking while it active to get osttruppen, because im bad at managing my manpower and paying 90 munitions + reinforcements to get ostruppen on field.

1: I love idea of mp 40 volks, just like in coh 1. Can't say they're powerful thou, as we know the performance of mp 40 with other unit ( cough cough assault grens)
2: I am not really sure about the truck, quite squishy but having tanky truck deos no sense and would make it pretty annoying if user just swarmds volks around it and reinforces losses.
3: incendiary rounds fit perfectly, thought it would be fine if it lowers the vet needed to use stuka flame rockets
4: Not sure how powerful Hetzer is, its flame tank i always loved, but 100 fuel feels still bit much. Also, does it vet properly now? i remember that hetzer had hard times getting to even vet 2.
5: Barrage's problem was in my opinion that its damage was inconsistent, no the ammount of rockets. |
